I used to shoot those (the moths) with a pellet gun when I was a kid - they would explode! ...yes I know, awful thing to do, wouldn't do it now.
I wonder what those catapillars are like batter dipped and deep fried? (Maybe I HAVE been watching too much of the travel channel)
Giant moths can't beat.....VAMPIRE MOTHS!!! http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/story/0,,2095257,00.html
That's what she said. To you. All jokes aside, that's a HUGE moth. The only ones we get around here are about the size of your fingernail.
What the fuck?! I had a girlfriend once who hated moths, swore up and down she'd been bitten by one. I figured she was mental!
Gojira! GOJIRA on his way! LOL! Boggs6ft7 - cool pix of the 'pillar but what are those little "yellow and black" dots on it?
Jumping on the bandwagon - here's the chunkiest guy I've got a picture of - a hummingbird hawk moth. It's body is about as big as your thumb - at first I really thought it was a hummingbird flying around.
By the way, other than vampire moths are moths dangerous? As in do they "bite" or "carry diseases"? Because once in awhile, I would er, play with some of them i.e gently catching them in my hands and let them crawl around my hands before setting them free.
Camel spiders are still the standard against which I compare all scary bugs. Nothing comes close after one the size of a fuckin' frisbee chased me like a goddam facehugger. http://ubersite.com/m/72447 Megaloptera is a distant second. Look at those ridiculous teeth-things! http://www.tolweb.org/Megaloptera
Dang...now I know why I have the tendency to be attracted by lights! LOL! squirrelcar - you mean you were really chased by one of those spiders!? They're the most awful looking bugs I've ever seen!
