    So.

This is going to be our predictions on whether or not GI Joe is going to be a success, such as Transformers, or if the movie itself is going to flop and go the way of some other movies, like Speed Racer, and most likely Dragonball: Evolution.

There are only two options. Either you think it does well, or you think it will flop. There will be no "Well, it's too early to tell" options ... because if I wanted to know if you guys thought it was too early to tell, I'd consult my Magic 8 Ball.

RIGHT NOW. Do you think it will be SUCCESSFUL or a FAILURE?

    Smash hit.

It could just me wanting Sommers to impress me ever since Van Helsing didn't, but whatever. That and Scarlett's HAWT.

Hit. The nostalgia factor will be the key.

A hit... or that's what you'll want to do to yourself after you see it.

Its going to make a ton of money, people love mindless flashy stuff like this..

But its also still going to suck... It really can't help it..

Stephen Sommers directed it, its going to suck, Period.

It is going to define the case of " Just because it made a fortune doesn't mean it was any good " for years to come..

Should do well in North America, not sure how it will go in the international markets though.

I voted for hit although I doubt it will be a huge money maker, I'm just assuming it won't tank hard.

Where is the moderate success/break even option? I don't think it'll be Transformers huge, but it'll do alirght.

That's how I feel. It'll do fine, but I don't think it will be the smash success Transformers was, but I don't think it will be a failure.

I do have to say, I'm impressed. I came into this thread expecting the same lame bitching about "OMGZ GONNA SUXXXX" "OMG JOE IN X-MEN UNIFORMS!!11!!" or any other stupid comment coming from idiots lately.

It's just like it was during the leadup to Transformers in 2007 where it seemed the majority of folks were proclaiming instant failure and that it would be the worst movie ever made. Let's not forget the ridiculous "raping my childhood" comments. :rolleyes2

Many people changed their opinion after seeing the TF movie, and I'm willing to bet that many people will change their opinion after seeing the Joe movie.

I don't think it's going to be that good. However, because it's a huge action flick, it will make money and won't flop.

It's hard to make a judgment on a 30-second TV spot. Maybe a full trailer would do this movie some good.

I say a hit, but only because nostalgia will carry it.

It will be a big hit with the general audience but won't go over well with hardcore joe fans.

We are getting the second movie this summer, based on the action figure line. Transformers and TF: ROTF has set the bar high and everyone is going to have high expectations on the Joe flick. I think it will flop as people will come away with their expectations unfulfilled.

I think it will be like Transformers, alot of people thought it would be horrible because it's based off of toys but it rocked and was a huge hit.

I'd be amazed if this movie broke even.

I'm not optimistic about this movie, based on the script and the director's track record

I think it'll get mixed to positive reviews.

Me too, however I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised. However I will not be buying a single toy from the line and I will see the movie through "Other Means". If I am suprised and I like it for some strange reason I will then buy a ticket and see it.
