There's no way this will end up as anything but a disaster. :(

Grey did the Italian Job, The Negotiator, and Law Abiding Citizen to name a few action type movies.

Those are some SHITTY directors. The best is Grey hands down. At least he's done some decent work.

I did see Law Abiding Citizen, so i'd go with Grey on this.

Or better yet GI Joe 2 is a remake/sequel like Ang Lee's Hulk and the Icredible Hulk.

I finally saw the first GI Joe, and it wasn't bad. But the fact they're searching for directors (and directors aren't coming to them being interested) scares me. SCARES ME.

Initial release date was listed for 2012 too, today Hasbro for the first time, stated a 2013 release.

Well then it would be an appropriate sequel.

My problem isnt with directors, it's with who they chose for Duke. Channing Tatum sucks. He gave a horrible performance in the first movie. Even Marlon Wayans did a better job.

totally agree, half the cast sucked imo with tatum and wayans being the two worst castings by far. if duke is dead at the start of the sequel then there might be some hope. i can't believe my two favorite shows growing up have been totally decimated by the hollywood retards:banghead:

2013? Geez. I kinda wanted to see it before I lose interest. If they want to make this a successful franchise, waiting is not the answer. By then, the audience will have forgotten most of it.

    Suuuuucks.

I just saw on IMDb that Chu, the director of the Justin Bieber movie, won out and will be directing GI Joe 2. Should be interesting.

EDIT: I also saw that they are expecting to have to recast Cobra Commander and the Baroness, as the actors may not be available for the sequel. Which could also mean they no longer want to be associated with such a poorly received franchise.

The sequel has the word Bust written all over it. I am going to avoid this movie like a plague. Even if Rachel Nichols is naked and has a sex scene in the movie I'll still not going to see it.

An unnecessary Bieber reference, unsubstantiated rumors and wild conjecture all in the same post. I await actual news.

would really suck if JGL couldn't reprise his version of Cobra Commander, but it would be fairly easy, i think anyway, to find someone else/an unknown to take over that role since a vast majority of folks/movie goers didn't even realize that was actually him playing still playing The Doctor/Cobra Commander after seeing him playing Rex in the first place.

as for Baroness, i honestly have no clue how that would turn out in the sequel as far as recasting/taking the Baroness & turning her in multiple other women in the Joe Flimverse.
