GI Joe sequel pulled, 3D delays blamed - Entertainment - NZ Herald News

Now why is this story being posted here well I was thinking that it was a little suspicious its being pushed back a year before transformers 4 is due to hit. I wonder if paramount are going to try and feed of the avengers success and try a gi joe/transformers cross over.

The theory I've seen been thrown around by a few people (something that I completely agree with btw) is that Paramount is pushing it back because of how badly Battleship is doing currently and are scared that GI. Joe: Retaliation may also bomb, so they're pushing it back to give it a better chance, or something like that. The whole adding 3D thing is probably them trying to justify what they're doing.

I don't think it has anything to do with any TF crossover.

My guess is the movie was screened and did poorly, and after the disaster of the sinking Battleship, they pulled it and moved it to a less competitive time of year, conveniently giving them more time as they convert it into 3D to reshoot and re-edit some stuff in the process.

I think they're trying to keep themselves from experiencing another flop.

Whatever the reason, this reflects very poorly on the movie and the studio, not to mention all of the money wasted for hype for its original June date.
