im sure everyone has some stories of how their GFs or spouses...spice? spouses know nothing about TFs. My girlfriend just told me i was wasting my money because i baught Alt Sunstreaker and Classics Bumblebee. apparently they look exactly the same.

My wife doesn't care. She says that as long as my collection makes me happy, then she is happy.

I've never really cared too much about that. I figure, it's my hobby - not hers. If she's interested in investing some time in learning about the characters or why I like 'em, I'll explain stuff, but I keep the explanations brief.

If your girl is ragging on you and wants to explain why you're spending, I dunno, X dollars on X toys, you can go two different routes - you can explain your buying habits in brief, so she has a better idea of context, or you can tell her to fuck off. Honestly, I kinda figure the first one is a bit more conducive to maintaining a relationship, but hey - what do I know?

My wife can't stand my collection, But then i show her some of the collections on here. Then I tell her at least i'm not that bad. (Little does she know, Teehee). I tell her she has 2 options, DEAL or Piss off.

NOT sexist. "Spouse" and GF were used where specifically applicable.

Though it wouldn't be wrong to generalize that males would likely have a better rough knowledge about "boy toys" than females would. Toys are often gendered in terms of their associations... especially through childhood. Though of course there are lots of female transfans, and lots of guys who never played with TFs or never attached enough importance to them to keep the names or minor differences straight. Every generality has exceptions naturally... but it would be silly to treat them like the norm. :)

For my part, my GF always surprises me... her awareness of what's going on in my collection ranges from the specific to the hopelessly vague, depending on the day (and I guess which of my incessant TF ramblings happened to be politely ignored or not).

As for tolerance... she only points out occasionally that I seem to have a lot of doubles I don't need (which happens, and it's good to have someone to remind me). She generally thinks they're neat. Plus she works in a bookstore, and her book habit is way more money and space-consuming than my robots are, so she can't complain too much about the collecting. :)

:p  yeah it should specify GF or BF, it just kind of bothers me that people would assume b/c I am a girl I don't know what I am talking about; I don't know as much as some, but I know more then others. But I am really nitpicking here sorry!

actually, now that we've been together for a while, my gf knows a surprising amount about transformers, especially beast wars, masterforce and galaxy force, since she's watched those entire series

I took a moment to show my wife Masterpiece Megatron, and she said "How much? and does it come with the stock and silencer like your g1?"

    I love my wife.

I have a question for all you lady TF fans on the boards: How do your BF or Hubbies treat your hobby? I am more interested in people who's sig other is NOT into TF's. I would like to hear the other half's side of this constant question.
