Well look at it this way. In the theater DOTM and Captain America came out about one month apart. Blu ray DVD release of these movies also came about a month apart. Captain America's Blu Ray has special features on it yet DOTM does not. BUT they released from theater to blu ray in the same time. So why does Captain America have special features and DOTM does not? Probably because Bay might be rendering out deleted scenes for us? what do you think?
This is just my personal opinion, but I think that they wanted to release the movie while the hype was still high. That is why it was set for such a quick release. (personal opinion). Back before the DVD came out, Bay stated that there would be another release in November with loads of bonus features. I am guessing there are some deleted scenes. As for if they will be rendered, I don't think they will because that would be a lot of money into something that not all people will watch and if some people already have it, they won't buy it again.
Because this way they can sell the extra-special-version at christmas. (The disc will just be a repaint of the one released earlier)
It'd be interesting to see the Twins' death by Sentinel. Apparently Skids throws himself in front of Bumblebee, thinking Bee is more important than he is, and his last words are something like, "I guess I wasn't smart enough bro." And Mudflap himself charged Sentinel to avenge his brother, all the while screaming with anguish and grief. To see that kind of a dramatic death from the Twins... While I never really hated them, they were never my favorites, and such a death likely would've boosted my own, as well as likely others, opinion about them drastically (like Wheelie's self sacrifice later on, or Agent Fowler not cracking under torture in TFP). But the deleted scenes will no doubt be, "Sam talks to his parents, extended". Or "Bruce tries to gets Carly's number." Scenes so meaningless Bay threw them out. Now, what I wish we could get is something like the IMAX cut of ROTF, with nothing really major added, just a few more shots of robo-mashing (the Forest Fight was extended). Maybe the Wreckers shown killing more Decepticons, or more fighting between the Autobots and Sentinel.
I could do without that. I'd prefer they somehow add the original highway chase scene as it was intended. You know, the one where someone became critically injured.
There's are no unused finished CGI shots. In the whole trilogy there were around a dozen of shots not used in the movies, and all of those were probably never finished.
I can see the Twins' death scene as a possibility, as it would be short, but as for the alternate ending, I assume you are referring to the truce scene, I can't see why they would have gone to that much effort to animate it, then cut it out, and they're not just going to animate it just as a bonus feature for the DVD
Man, i liked the twins. But since they didnt actually die in the film, then they are still alive and "all in yo face" in the movieverse. I've never understood why they were so hated.
