I'm reminded of a book that was recently recommended to me Radical Simplicity by Dan Price. Essentially its how to live without money, or with very little, by a guy who travels a lot on his bike and builds little 'hideaways' whereever he goes. He does have a place somewhere in Oregon I think it is, but his skills would be good for living 'homeless'.

And really, it sounds like being homeless might be a step up, at least in that you wouldn't have to deal with family anymore for a while. Tho by the time you read this you may already be...

There's a flaw in your plan, the book costs money. Something homeless people tend to be in short supply of...

True, and it was just a suggestion.

And as I said by the time he reads this it might be too late anyway. Of course being young and screwed is better than being old and screwed - at least then you have the time and physical endurance to get yourself out of it eventually, as hard a lesson as it is.

If the Army's not your style, have you considered the Peace Corps or some sort of Missionary work? I don't know all the details on what the terms are, but it could get you away from your family and doing something worthwhile for at least a period of time. Give you a chance to step outside your life now and figure out what you want to do when you get back.

My lifes pretty much the same.

I moved away from my family at the age of 13.I've been homeless, lived in abandoned cars and in an abandoned train station.

    I never went back home.

I'm friendly with my family but thats about it.

If you can prove you've lived there...even illegally.... they cant kick you out instantly.

If you have gotten any bills or mail delivered to your house then thats your proof.

They will have to go to court to kick you out.

    Nice!!!!!!!

    Easy on the info there

Just curious, how's that going for you guys?

You & the wife are supercool for helping a guy out. It's kind of a shock really, usually everyone just says 'good luck dude' or ' sorry to hear '.
Then you sneak in with your tiny post :lol

I can't tell if this is serious or not...

...but if it's real, there's NO way it could end poorly.

    NO WAY AT ALL.
