Long story short, my PSP got stolen. Got a police report filed out a while back, and got a check from the insurance company yesterday to go buy me a new PSP. Only, I decided not to, since I didn't play much with it as of late. So, I thought I'd get a Wii, as I know my wife will go bananas if I do. She's been wanting one ever since she tried it over at some friends.

So, besides the obligatory Mario Galaxy and Zelda, what are the Wii-worthy games to get? Any other accessories or memory cards I should get while I'm at it?

Get a Nyko charger. they're awesome.

Metroid Prime 3, Wario Ware, Super Paper Mario, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Sonic and the Secret Rings (a 3D sonic game that isnt shit).

I'd also reccomend grabbing some Wii points and a classic controller.

i liked sonic but it was too hard for me. im stuck in the pirate world and didnt think ill ever advance. if you like arcade shooters pic up the zapper and ghost squad. i have a blast with this. the link game that comes with the zapper is also really fun if you like shotting gallery games. elebits is fun and probably cheap now. i enjoyed call of duty, though red steel was pretty bad. apparently the medal of honor game has really good fps controls. paper mario is apparently awesome but i haven't gotten it yet. and yeah, galaxy and zelda are the system sellers.

Metroid Prime 3 and Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure. Both are great!

Metal Slug Anthology is a good bit of 2D side-scrolling bliss. I recently got Fire Emblem; a friend of mine says it's pretty good.

I, too, suggest getting some Wii points to pick up some Virtual Console games. They've put several of the best TurboGrafx/TurboDuo games up (Gate of Thunder, Dungeon Explorer, the Bonk games, Blazing Lazers...), and they're adding Neo Geo games, King of Fighters '94 being the latest Neo addition.

Wii Play for the extra Wii-mote and a few decent mini-games.
    An extra Nunchuk.
Wii Points Cards for VC games.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (February 10th) - Why hasn't anyone mentioned that yet?
Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda: TP like you already stated.
Maybe one of the Rayman or Wario Ware, I hear they are good.
Some rechargeable batteries or as Valkysas said the Nyko charger.

Get Mercury Meltdown Revolution, and get VC games, there are over 100, VC puts me in old school bliss, it's damn near worth the price of the Wii to be able to play all those games on one system.

I highly recommend Metroid Prime 3. I'd suggest Mario and Zelda even more emphatically, if you hadn't specified games besides those :)

I can only speak of those games that are relesed in Sweden.

RE 4 Wii edition: If you have not played this game on the GC then this is a Wii MUST have. It is one of the best games out there.

Metal Slug Anthology: If you want an relaxing humoristic 2D game to play and is great for getting time rolling this is the game for you. it also holds 2 player.

Metroid Prime 3: Another must have and if you really like it then I suggest you go and buy MP 1 and 2 for Gc and a save card+ controller and play those 2 first.

RE:UC: itsa on rail shooter. If you like RE and onrail shooter this is fun. It is mainly shooting every kind of monster in the RE univers and covers stuff what happens between 1-3 with Umbrella and Wesker. has 2 player mode

Mario and Sonic at olympic games: I dont know whay ppl bash this as it is loads of fun. It has 32 events and everything is fun. This is the kind of game you play to unlock everything and pick out when friends are over if you have more then 1 controller (4 is ultimate fun) The controlls are easy but to be really good youneed practice.

an also get the NEw annaversary TOmbraider. its uphotted version of the old 1 for PSX. its a great 1 player adventure.

and dont forgett GC has alot of great games to that you can probably get cheap of the bay or something. let me know if you some pointers on the GC stuff to

Big Brain Academy is fun. Resi 4 Wii Edition is superb, even if (like me) you've already played it on the GC. And Metroid Prime 3 is absolute LOVE.
I agree. I've got one, and it is indeed awesome.

Depends what games you're into - I liked Zelda, Mercury meltdown madness, Big brain acadamy, Guitar hero 3 and Raymans ravin rabbits.
