Had a modded fat PSP. Got it stolen, bought a couple of DS lites with the insurance money. One for wifey, one for me.

It was fun, but both of us got bored with the system. With recent news of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, the urge to get a PSP got to me again. I miss the fun games the console has - The Burnout series, all of the Metal Gear stuff, Loco Roco, Lumines, Castlevania, you name it.

Mind you I want a custom firmware for homebrew and emulation... So... Should I get an old 'Fat' model, a slim, a 2000 or 3000 model?

If you have a GameCrazy nearby, take advantage of this.

You forgot Monster Hunter in that list of series. It's pretty awesome and the Japanese equivalent of World of Warcrack. :p

D'aww. But they're really great! I more meant that it's popular over there like WoW is...elsewhere. I recommend you try them, Unite finally has proper wireless ad-hoc support so you can play it with other people if there's no-one nearby that owns it. :p

I(t's not as bad as Warcrack because it's more action oriented, that and you can play solo.

That's different then. I cannot get myself to play online, no matter the game. Must be because I got burned by douchebags the few times I attempted to play online. >_<

Loco Roco & Patapon suck away my life on road trips. I would wait and get a Go but if you want to mod it the older the better. I see from gamer card you've been playing some Metallica we should rock out some time. I need a drummer have none of the band trophies yet.

Go with 3000, apparently they're moddable now. I'm pretty sure they can't boot pirated games, so if that's your thing...

psp 3000 can be modded now and can run p-games. one problem though is that if you turn off the device, the FW will boot back to original, so you have to start over modding your system.

Online? Blech. Not a problem with me. I prefer single player campaigns.

Besides, custom firmwares means console emulation! I love to have NES/SNES/Genesis games on the go.
