so is there much of a difference between uncharted and tomb raider besides the fact that the main character's a dude? I've loved all of the tomb raider games (except that weird ps2 one) since I got the first one for the saturn.

Well nothing other than Tomb Raider sucks as of lately and Uncharted is everything a action adventure game should be.

Definitely a difference. Tomb Raider is puzzle heavy. This game has puzzles, but it's more about the gunning (with a cool cover system), exploring, and platforming. But the platforming isn't the same style as TR (Though the newer TR's might be a little bit more like it). It's more fluid, and a bit more forgiving. Character, writing, and the less-serious attributes is what makes me come back to this game.

Uncharted is more like and Indy movie, while Tomb is more like a National Treasure.

uncharted is a cross between gears of war and tomb raider, but way better than both.

And I am an advocate of "graphics don't make a game," but... Damn.

yeah that reminds me, the platforming is hard if you're colourblind.

Speaking of Uncharted, check out the movie mode I just posted about in the thread. It improves on the Halo 3 quite a bit.

I agree with everything said in the thread.

Also, get MGS4 and Burnout Paradise w/ Big Surf Island DLC add-on.

I'm on almost every day, but at very sporadic hours. I basically play when our newborn is sleeping, but As of late, she's been keeping us up at night, and sleeping when I'm at work in the daytime :(

At least I can use the PSP when she sleeps on me :D

well, it arrived! I haven't had a chance to open it yet, I've got to get to bed and get up in a few hours, and I want to be able to set it up when my wife's not around.

so judging from people's comments, there doesn't seem to be any other real "must have" exclusive games, huh?

It really depends on your preferences dude, because there are a lot of them, but it's hard to recommend potentially 60 dollar games when they might be in a Genre you don't like.

    Infamous
    Uncharted
    Heavenly Sword
    Killzone (uber badass)
    Resistance 2
    Folklore
    Valkyria Chronicles
    Little Big Planet
    Flower
    Wipeout (mmmmmm, Wipeout)
Ratchet and Clank (even if the new one comes out, this one is the beginning of that Trilogy and VERY good)
    Metal Gear 4
Hot Shots Golf (if that's your thing)
Gran Turismo Prologue (though I'd recommend waiting for 5
Calling All Cars (PSN old title that's really fun for friends over)

    And later this year

    Uncharted 2
    Ratchet and Clank
Heavy Rain (that might be 2010)
    GOW3

Also, if you do plan on getting LBP, don't get the original game. There is a new GOTY edition that comes with everything, and I do mean everything.

The LittleBigPlanet Game of the year edition came out today. It's the version to get. God of War 3 comes out 2010 though...Bummer. But God of War Collection comes this year.

Downloadable games that I have really enjoyed.

Pixeljunk Monsters - Hard as hell, but has a new casual setting once you update it. One of my most played downloadable games.
Lumines supernova - Addictive puzzle game, with awesome music.
Burn Zombie, Burn - Top down shooter, controls take some getting used to, but has a long life in it.
