it's been bugging me for a while, the colour scheme is good it's just the cheap white bits on his arms and chest and i'm not going through the effort of making a custom.the only problem is that what if there won't be a repaint and by the time I can buy him he'll be too much. your thoughts?

If you are looking for a better paint job, I don't know that we will be getting it. I would expect a G1 inspired repaint, but I could be wrong. I think the current one serves its purpose. Its not great, but it isn't a terrible representation.

On that note, I really hope they don't make a G1 inspired one, because outside of looking decent attached to prime, I think it would look terrible, but I will reserve final judgment for when/if we see it. One inspired by Prime's design may be interesting though as armor.

 

Get him now, and just leave him combined with Prime. His robot mode isn't horrible, but the jet mode is WAY to kibbly for my taste.

 

Paint brush, matte back paint.

It's an SR-71 Paint scheme. Anything else would porbably look out of place.

 

I wonder why he's the only leader-size who hasn't been give a smaller size update like a Voyager Jetfire with movie-accurate cane axe with a G1 repaint later down the road. I might get that.

 

How could you get any more 'stealth' than the paint scheme on the first toy?  

 

All leader Movie toys got repainted at least once so a Jetfire Repaint will come eventually. I myself would prefer a G1 type repaint but who knows. They may make it gray and silver like the Legends version in the War for the Skies pack.

Yes, one of the big reasons to get him is the SR-71 mode, which should be black. There are some nice paint apps and logos in jet mode, and this is how I would display him if not combined with Prime.

 

I see a Jhaxus repaint in its future.

However I do assume a blacker repaint will be made.... maybe along with the Buster Prime release.

 

Repaint into Silverbolt would be nice.

 

lol, was bored and decided to read through this thread again, I think all of you have talked me into getting a second Jetfire to combine with Prime (If I don't find MP Skywarp tonight). Have had them both for months, and still havent had the urge to combine them. Then I am probably going to want another damn Optimus for the display. I blame you all.

 

Don't really think I WANT him anyhow, but I still have yet to see a single one on shelves.

personally I like the look of the actual toy itself, I just want certain parts to look more fitting with the rest of his body(his arms and chest, if hasbro did that this thread wouldn't exist)
