SERIOUSLY? what the hell...we just got one here in alb for no driving on cell phones, which makes sense (though i still hate it, cuz they'll allow cordless/corded phone talking, which still distracts you from the road) but to ban something while walking? whats next, no listening to music while working out? good god, this is just retarded....they should just ban everything until they get an automated people mover robot system like in I robot.....

Common sense no longer applies in most major centers.

I remember on a trip to the Dominican Republic we saw many things, include 4 people riding on a motorbike, without helmets. Most things that we did there would not be allowed in Canada due to safely laws, but in places like that they rely on personal judgment.

For instance we went on a daytrip in the back of a truck, (no seatbelts, no helmets) on our way to a mountain that had waterfalls that you can slide down, (no life jackets) and ended up having a great time. If I felt that my life was in danger at anytime I will decide not to do it.

They have to stop making laws to control everything....

Stupid people like that deserve to die, and not reproduce. Harsh…

Stupid laws because of stupid people. But, then again, who is stupider? The stupid people that generate these laws, or the stupid people who pass them?

For now it's just a proposed law. It's way too stupid to pass.

Hell, common sense went out in the 90s. When the person won the lawsuit against McDonalds for spilling hot coffee in their lap, the gov't. decided we needed help taking care of ourselves. The person that spilled the coffee should've been banned from McD's and the case thrown out. The common sense part was they scorched themselves in a place that hopefully hindered their ability to reproduce.

You know, I think this is where natural selection comes in. I mean, damn...WTF!?!?!

St:rolleyes2  pid people shouldn't breed. Simple enough.

When I saw the thread title, I thought this was going to be another retarded imaginary bomb hoax.

There was more than one coffee case, IIRC. In one of them, the coffee melted through the cup and caused major second-degree burns. Clearly McDonald's fault in that case, not hers. It was the shitstorm of frivolous lawsuits that came after that which became a problem.

Yes it is very stupid but not too stupid to pass. Didn't New York or some other city make it illegal to own an ashtray? Seems like I heard that on the news somewhere. If something that stupid can pass then anything can.

The only real solution to stupid laws is not to do away with stupid people or politicians but lawyers. Think about it for a minute. If they didn't advice people to ask for so much back in the day then it would not be a trend to sue so much today, but then again it is greedy people who went to the lawyers in the first place for tons of money. Just look at the commercials every time a mass marketed drug is announced to be liked to a birth defect or some other problem. You would swear that the commercial was made and distributed 5 minutes after the announcement. Maybe it's just me but that is part of the problem anyway.
