I was just curious if anyone suffered from this when it comes to the Scramble-City type combiners. Do you have a certain way that the Super Robot HAS to be assembled? And when you see it "mis-transformed", do you have the uncontrollable urge to "fix" it?

For example if you see a Menasor where Dragstrip and Dead End are NOT the arms, does that drive you nuts and you'll never be at peace with yourself until you fix it?

I know the whole gimmick was that anyone could become the arms or legs, but since it was never really addressed in the US cartoon, it was never a feature I personally ever really cared about.

Yup, I know exactly what you mean; I have to display my combiners the way they're shown in the official promo pics or instructions. They just don't quite feel right otherwise.

Nah, not really. My King Poseidon gets his limbs regularly re-arranged (some of the TM modes look better than others) while I don't really have that many more Scramble City Gestalts - most of mine only have one combined mode (Devvy, Lio, Road Caeser) so that's the way they have to stay. *shrugs*

Only ones I really care about are Defensor & Bruticus. Swindle, Brawl (his turret HAS to be his knee cap!) Streetwise & Groove have to be the legs!

Menasor & Superion, all the limbs seem to look alike to me and can be switched around. I don't care how Abominus, Pirahnacon & Computron are assembled.

I don't believe in keeping any part of my collection "official" per the way they're portrayed in TF media. That's not to say that I intentionally mistransform my combiners, but I'm open to changing it up so long as the toy allows it.

I do. I'll go to the resources section to make sure I've followed the instructions or the box art. Never thought about it but I guess it truly is an OCD.

Me too. I can't even stand something as simple as switching Brawl and Swindle on Bruticus. Drives me bonkers.

Yes, my combiners must have their limbs on just right. I couldn't stand having them miss matched.

Bruticus and Defensor have to have the limbs in the right spots. Computron too. The rest, not so much, even Monstructor and Dinoking.

I remember watching RID, and when they formed Ruination/Bruticus and Armorhide/Brawl and Rollbar/Swindle would turn into the arms... I was like "AAA!! Stop that!"...

All my Energon combiners have to be a certain way, otherwise I have to go and fix them. It kills me to see pictures of "incorrectly transformed" ones. :lol

That was the only time that scramble function was used in a cartoon that aired in the West. I wonder if that's a factor, the play pattern wasn't shown as widely. I know it's in the instructions.

It makes me wonder if Japanese kids/collectors are much more likely to "Cross On" the Headmasters than those of us in the West. I know I never thought to do it until I saw the HM dubs.

oh dude, i'm so like that... every combiner has to be setup in the exact configuration that the show or instructions show... otherwise i get crazy annoyed... only exception is Energon Superion with the FP upgrade, because those have new instructions to follow, so they're still in line the how the instructions are... and i do that for every combiner i've got, which is almost all of them...

For me it's what's more aesthetically pleasing, esp for the Energon combiners. For G1 I lean more toward the offical pictures/instructions like Draven.

I guess it's simply a matter of if you go by the American G1 cartoon, or the Japanese-only Scramble City episode - where the combiners displayed different special abilities when configured differently.

For that concept alone, I like Scramble City, but I consider the configuration from the American G1 to be the default set-up.
