TFW2005 EDIT: We received the following from Ricky Claydon at Titan:

Here's the first page (pencils) of the first originated strip from the first issue of the new Transformers UK comic - Geoff Senior's first Transformers work since 1989.

This book will be on sale July 19th

    Sounding great... :)

The UK comic's due 19th July I think, and there's talk of international subs.

Wow, those Geoff Senior panels take me back...
I've subscribed to the magazine as my local newsagents are pretty unreliable (and I want two of issue #1 anyway). Titan do some pretty nice mags, and even though this is a 'comic magazine' it should maintain their standard given what we've heard from Steve White.

I just hope the covers are reasonably thick stock so that the cover-gifts don't damage them... but yeah, I'm really excited about this after seeing art.

edit about edit: Actually, Senior's done some other TF stuff since 1989...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoff_Senior

"he has returned to Transformers on occasion - for the 1997 BotCon convention comic Reaching the Omega Point, two illustrations for the Transforce convention book Alignment, several covers for Titan Publishing's series of Transformers TPBs, and the cover of Issue 1 for Panini's 2003 UK title Transformers Armada."

...most aren't well-known, though, and the Armada cover was in the style Panini wanted.

Oh man, he's still got it! I'ma have to import this. I haven't bought any new transformers comics ever, no dreamwave, no idw, but this I must have.

And now I remember what Josh's pages always reminded me of!

SEE! These designs work even from the perspective of a classic artist. Thank you for proving a point UK!

IDW's output is great, but looking at that one page... wow. Suddenly I'm 9 years old again. That's old school Marvel UK.

I feel like a relapsed junkie who's just had his first fix in years. I'd forgotten how good it feels and now I'd kill to get another one.

Well, they work if you throw away most of the "tangled metal" detailing.

But yeah, it must've been a tough challenge and it's cool to see them integrated so well with Senior's traditional style. (Also really glad the designs didn't force him to change styles.)

I think the subs link is ExpressMag.com's fault -- searching for 'transformers' at www.expressmag.com gives
    I'll drop SW an email...

Ah I see, the subscription option is only for those in the UK. I guess this will not be a Titan publication easily obtained in the US. I know I have seen some of those other publications here.

    Oh well.

Best guess: ExpressMag being less organised than Titan and haven't updated their database yet.

(Titan seemed keen to do international subs on this, so I'm sure it isn't that people won't be able to get them.)

edit: Got a reply, they're looking into the borked links on the site.

Unless the license doesn't allow it, Titan would be crazy not to offer this to overseas subscribers.

Damned true - that pic gave me so many flashbacks to his G1 stuff, it's unreal. Looks like this mag'll be a must-buy! :D
