If the KND can have a crossover with Billy and Mandy, anything is possible EDIT: Honestly, the first episode wasn't terrible. I like the premise, it's just a matter of what they do with it. Yeah, Rex is kind of weak as a character (right now), but I love the Pack (especially Biowolf and that naturebender guy). Plus, judging by the teaser for the next episode, it looks like Evos who don't want to be cured will become more common.
Doh! Well, looks like the mods have fixed my error. I agree with Coeloptera's point in the review she brought up, if an army had been sent after me & they all died save one I'd probably be in the fetal position.
I was ready to write this show off but I got interested. The animation looks really nice too. Rex's narration was super annoying though. For some reason it just felt lame. And did they slip the word "damn" in there?
Just a correction. Not a chick. I swear, have a letter "a" at the end of your screen name... Anyway, anyone else have any thoughts about the villains so far? - Coeloptera
Double doh, I'm really messing up in this thread. Sorry. I'm liking Plant Magneto, and the girl who opens portals was interesting(though at first I thought she erased those soliders from eixistence, which would be so much better).
I felt the same way. (It's ironic in fiction that villains always seem to be more appealing and interesting than the hero.) And I must say I liked Van Kleiss' Spoiler self-reanimating corpse transformation sequence at the end . It was the best animated sequence in the episode, and creepy yet fascinating.
I think it's less about the 'a' and more because your screen name resembles 'Cleopatra' at a glance (that's what I see, at least ) As for the villains, Biowulf is definitely the coolest bad guy for me so far, probably because I really like wolves (my middle name being Lobo probably has something to do with that). Anyone else think that Van Kleiss is Rex's dad?
In short, nice animation, lame plot line, dissapointing, however little kids will love it. I was expecting more from the Ben 10 guys.
THREAD RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE! Has anyone stuck with this show? It's definitely gotten better as the show goes along. Rex has grown from an annoying jerk to something different. My son and I got caught up from the DVR over the weekend. The 'Silent Hill' episode was FAH-reeek-EEEE. If you guys gave up on this show I would give it another try.
Mmm, definitely better. The Hong Kong ep, wherein we learn some actually intriguing things about Rex from before got me back to the show. Unlike many other such cartoon heroes this kid has a past, and evidently a rather sordid and complex one. Oh. and for anyone who likes comedy, the killer rabbit ep is a must see. Yes, they even threw in the obligatory Monty Python reference. I can actually see the show improving and they've delved a little more into the world of the show and, well, how much it actually seems to suck for regular people when any living thing can turn into a powerful monster without warning. Finding out what the world did about the "Bug Jar" is also phenomenally dark. - Coeloptera
I've been forgetting to DVR the new episodes, but I can definitely see some improvement in the series. And I agree about the Silent Hill-esque episode. I've never actually played the games, but I can always respect a reference to it. EDIT: Ok, just saw the rabbit episode, and I loved it! That was the best slapstick I can recall seeing since the good ol' Stooges.
Bringing this thread back around because I've really started getting into this show, and I think anyone who was maybe put off in the beginning might want to give it a second chance. This most recent episode in particular was really cool, as we got to see how Rex joined Providence, as well as the origins of Providence itself. We even got to see Spoiler Rex as a full EVO which was incredibly badass and Spoiler why White is the only human without nanites .
i new this show had potential and in the past few episodes its shown it! rex before and joining providence was very cool. the jokes are being delivered better, the evos are starting to realy make trouble for the worlsd, giving rex and the team alot to handel, the characters are developing and the show is taking a pretty dark and creepy tone, yet still throwing in jokes in the right places. for and example in this weeks episode Spoiler at rexs party noah was lying on the floor with a paper bag on his head, and rexs joke about him either using his smackhands on the pinyata or using holidays cake.
I must agree. The show has gotten more depth to it. The implications of "Monster-Rex" are actually rather fascinating, as were his nanites automatically defending him when unconscious when he was younger, but not anymore. Also, the answer to why White Knight is the only nanite free human was pretty spiffy, and why they won't ever try that again. - Coeloptera
I'm glad I'm not the only one watching this. The implications of 'Monster' Rex are astounding. I hope they don't mess that up.
