Generations War for Cybertron (Cybertronian) Soundwave arrived in the mail from Robotkingdom.com today, and I'm happy to bring you a pictorial review of this awesome toy! Pics are up; if you have any requests, let me know and I'll try to do them.

The toy, like the other WFC characters, comes packaged in robot mode

Soundwave's robot mode is awesome! It's easily recognizable as Soundwave, from the colors to the design. He's got the trademark head (the best Soundwave headsculpt ever, in my opinion), "window" chest, and the same weapons as G1 Soundwave.

He's pretty poseable, much like the other WFC toys, which is always a bonus.

His head can only rotate side-to-side, and he has no waist rotation, though, which is a slight drawback.
One neat feature is that his chest opens. This is for weapon storage, but I imagine you might be able to fit Titanium Soundwave's Laserbeak in there (mine is in storage, so unfortunately I can't test it out at the moment).

He fits right in with G1 Soundwave and Music Label Soundwave; this guy is a perfect "Classics/Universe" Soundwave if you don't have those two.

Transformation to vehicle mode is easy and everything fits together nicely. I'll save the transformation process for video reviewers.

Vehicle mode is a compact armored car type vehicle. It rolls pretty well on its four wheels.

The weapons can be stored inside the vehicle, or attached to the outside. I prefer the weapons on the outside, as it gives Soundwave armaments in alt. mode.

Overall, Soundwave is an excellent toy. He's my favorite WFC toy so far, and is currently my favorite from the line. If you see him, buy him. He's a great representation of the video game design, a good stand-in for a "modern" Soundwave, and an awesome incarnation of the character overall.

Indeed, he looks much better in these pics than the official photos, though I've yet to sight wave 1 over here in the UK yet - it's like hunting Bigfoot!

Sweet! Thanks for the review and the great photos!

But now to the question everybody will ask... Is it possible to fanmode him into a cybertronian boombox? :D

Odd, I never though about using him as a CHUG stand in until now :lol  I think he may still end up with the other WFC's though. Do you have a WFC Megatron to take a pic with him?

I was just about to ask the same thing! Man he's probably the most anticipated WFC on my list. The chest cavity is likely too small for Universe Ravage. Regardless, he's going straight to my Classics shelf. Thanks for the review!

Simply amazing! I like that the bio explains his bulkiness. His head looks incredible, too!

The only thing I don't like that much are his wheel-buttocks... Is there no other way of placing them? a bit higher perhaps, near his shoulders?

Overall though he looks fantastic, thank you Optimus 747 =D

u son of a bitch. i was tempted on robotkingdom but the price to import this guy to me is not worth it.

hope he and megs shows up soon.

also can the wheels fold up more on his shoulders or back? with them that low hes got some junk in the trunk kickin.

I've tried to manage some kind of boombox-looking mode, but haven't come up with anything decent. I'm sure some of the Radicons will be able to figure one out; the potential is definitely there.

No, my brother is getting that one and wanted to wait until retail to get it.

The wheels can't move up, but they are on vertical hinges and can be positioned more off to the side, or pointing outwards instead of flat. That's how they were in the package, actually. This way is closer to the game design, though.

I just ordered the Music Label Soundwave three days ago, and so I'm happy to see that they're both in scale. They'll look good together on a shelf.

I really dislike the clown feet, but everything else about him looks cool-ish. I probably won't buy it since I have ML Soundwave, but at least Hasbro's finally coming close to making a passable Soundwave.

He seems to have giant clown feet and overlong upper thighs.

Yeah the feet are the only thing that really bothers me. But overall he looks great, and he will be replacing ML Soundwave on the Classics shelf.

Since I don't have a Soundwave this one would be a great representation despite those feet, in which don't bother me. I would like to get the ML Soundwave, but thats a maybe on my list.
