Generations War for Cybertron (Cybertronian) Soundwave arrived in the mail from Robotkingdom.com today, and I'm happy to bring you a pictorial review of this awesome toy! Pics are up; if you have any requests, let me know and I'll try to do them. The toy, like the other WFC characters, comes packaged in robot mode Soundwave's robot mode is awesome! It's easily recognizable as Soundwave, from the colors to the design. He's got the trademark head (the best Soundwave headsculpt ever, in my opinion), "window" chest, and the same weapons as G1 Soundwave. He's pretty poseable, much like the other WFC toys, which is always a bonus. His head can only rotate side-to-side, and he has no waist rotation, though, which is a slight drawback. One neat feature is that his chest opens. This is for weapon storage, but I imagine you might be able to fit Titanium Soundwave's Laserbeak in there (mine is in storage, so unfortunately I can't test it out at the moment). He fits right in with G1 Soundwave and Music Label Soundwave; this guy is a perfect "Classics/Universe" Soundwave if you don't have those two. Transformation to vehicle mode is easy and everything fits together nicely. I'll save the transformation process for video reviewers. Vehicle mode is a compact armored car type vehicle. It rolls pretty well on its four wheels. The weapons can be stored inside the vehicle, or attached to the outside. I prefer the weapons on the outside, as it gives Soundwave armaments in alt. mode. Overall, Soundwave is an excellent toy. He's my favorite WFC toy so far, and is currently my favorite from the line. If you see him, buy him. He's a great representation of the video game design, a good stand-in for a "modern" Soundwave, and an awesome incarnation of the character overall.
