This is my WFC Red Alert, as usual, only LED mod on him. He is on ebay right now. Spent many days for doing his hardest part- eye. The rotating up gimmick is the pain for this issue. Attempt few times but the gear inside broke my wiring. Feel dissapointed and i got a little bid fedup to finish him.

Already abandon him fewdays sitting on bench. Suddenly flash up a new way to mod his eye, and this is the final results. Switch and battery and wire is all located in his chest. Tested rotating up/ down his head. Fine. Working pretty well.

    Modification done:
    • LED headlights (3x sr521 batteries/ 1 on off switch)
    • LED eye (2 x ag4 batteries/ 1 on off switch)
    • LED roof's siren bar (1x small 3v coin cell, 1x circuit/ activate by motion sensor. )

Check This video for the roof's siren lights up!!

Great job! I know how hard that wiring job can be. I did the same for a Custom Wheeljack a year ago and the head gimmick gave me grief too. I think the headlights are too bright, in my opinion. I suggest you try:

    a) resisitors on the headlights (I use 510k almost exclusively)
    b) smaller LEDs (SMT size 1206 I used)
    c) paint the inside of the fenders black
    d) any combination or all of the above

Here is a shot of Wheeljack for reference (sorry I have no detailed pics of the wiring):

If anyone knows LEDs, it's BH. Still, that's an awesome addition. I like how that's the only thing you mod on the figure.

I kinda like the lights though. COz after someone paints it or so, the lights will seem more manageable. It wont pass thru all the paint. How long does the battery last??

LOoks freaking awesome by the way!

Great work, the thought of installing leds on a figure of this scale is daunting. Would LOVE to see a tutorial!

looks awesome. lights are a little too bright, I agree w/ big hank. no paint job is going to make them seem less bright :/

very impressive though. gonna send you a PM...

Looks great, but I too have to say you have an issue with the headlights. More so than the overall brightness, you have too much light candling through the body area around the lights. Painting the inside of the hood flat black should help dramatically, as that is the standard procedure for blocking out any over spill of light in lit models and the like.

So you crammed three separate sets of electronics with their own power source and switch in there? Good show indeed!

Second that!! The only one I can find is the voyager ratchet tutorial. It's great, but it refers to a large figure and he doesn't use internal power, which is most of the trouble with adding LEDs to TFs.

Sorry KooF, just wanted to get that out there. It would be cool to see how you fit everything inside...

Thx for the tips, big hank. Previously i done 1 with dimmed headlights, the result not really good after paint. So this, i make it brights enough, i belief after repaint, those lights will not spread over his armpit and should looks better than unpainted. I always envy ur talent....
