    Hi all,

Here is my interpretation of the Squadron X team, the wreckers gone wrong, as you can see my team so far consists of Macabre, Ferak, Tornado and Earthquake, i will be doing Crosscut when i get the mold i plan on using for him which will be a real gear longview, i know that there is not much mods done to these guys and the paint work is not massive but i didnt want them to be over the top as they are a list of second stringers as far as the marvel comics goes, and then were given a type of god status when it came to the IDW comics so i wanted to keep that feel to it, as always the paints were done using base coats of citadel corax white or chaos black as a primer and then the appropriate tamiya spray paint over that and finished with a tamiya clear to seal it, Ferak was done using the lavender spray and then a light coat of pearl white over top of that to sort of match his comic look more closely.

As always crits and comments are welcome

I know the latest toy release was white but the original comic colours were a dark purple from the marvel line and also the new comics had a shade of purple, it wasnt until the timelines comics came out they made him white, which in that case you are correct but i prefer the purple look.

No, in IDW and timelines, he was white but I don't know about in the original comics, so if that's what you prefer then by all means.

It's metal color, and I'm merely pointing it out for accuracy.

I know exactly what you mean dude, the only reason i used him for earthquake was because i had a spare really, same with tornado, just a spare toy, the other 2 were purpose bought for the project a long with long view, no idea what to use for Fang or the other guy either, would be interested to see what your team is looking like for the Squad X

He was never white in IDW. He's a very light pink that appears white because of his colors being washed out. This is why the Timelines version was white, because it looks white on the wiki but isn't. I believe even Josh Burcham, the colorist confirmed this back when Ferak was unveiled for that year's Botcon and there was discussion about it.

And he's clearly not white here in his alt mode. Pink.

Or here in his robot mode.

    Wreckers 4 wallpaper

    Photoshop says the same.

This image is straight from his Deviant art, so it's the source, not a scan with its colors possibly not being accurate.

Yeah, when I do mine, I'm going to go for the goddamn lightest pink possible, since Macabre is going to be full on pink. That Earthquake is a good idea, I'm goign to use him. I think I might use that Marvel Hulk tank figure for Fang, the others are hard to figure out.

What are the extra pieces you used on Earthquake's shoulders?

i had another generations scoop figure bucket so i just cut the teeth of that bucket to make his shoulders, worked pretty easy and has the effect i was after.

Because they looked at the wiki page and incorrectly assumed it was white because the scan's colors are washed out. IDW colored Horribull wrong too because they referenced the wiki which used a photo of a sun damage Horribull.

Nice start to the team. I feel like, with all the Wreckers love out there, you'd think there'd be more love for their counterparts.

Who are you using for Earthquake there? I've recently started on my own Squadron X and was casting around for who to use for him myself.

Seems like generations scoop = weirdwolf's chest. Maybe rid Thunderhoof for the spikes?

They look great. As for Ferak's colours, what's important is that he's recognisable as the character.

G1 Galvatron and Soundwave had at least 2 very distinctive colour schemes.

Lately even IDW Rodimus and movie Drift have 2 distinct colour schemes too.

Yes, but Ferak ONLY had 1 color scheme. The Wings one is based on a misunderstanding, it has no basis in recognizability.
