If you're referring to the G1 cartoon, "REFLECTOR" would be both the robot(s) and the alt mode; if you're referring to the G1 toy, then "REFLECTOR" would be the alt mode only. Reflector wasn't the most fleshed out of characters in TF fiction. I think both of you guys stated your cases well

One could always do this as well (troop building FTW):

That's the same show that had Seaspray transform into a merman and mermaid transformed into a gondola.

    Spyglass, Viewfinder, and Spectro.

They form Reflector. Take your pick for which one of their heads you want because Reflector doesn't have one, he's just a camera.

from memory i think the chest of generations perceptor is shaped like g1 reflector's character model, but don't quote me, i don't feel like looking the image up again

Well, the G1 cartoon is what it is. I don't think one would (or should) be forced to pick one over another.

Those who are referring to the new toy as "Reflector" are probably referencing the G1 cartoon, and as such, each robot had pretty much the same design.

I think it would be cool to see customs made both ways: one set that's a bit more cartoon accurate, and another set as you're suggesting that's a bit more toy accurate. I'd say that some may be purchasing multiples for customs purposes, and some would be purchasing multiples for the sake of mirroring the multiplicity of the G1 Reflector's robot mode without doing any customization. The easiest way to do this would be to simply buy multiples, of course :)

One will suffice, if at all.

If I actually gave much of a damn about Reflector, I'd be too pissed off to buy it 3 times. But it's one of those goofy G1 ideas that I have no attachment to.

On top of that, it just doesn't look like a very good mold.

Good to see your basing your opinions on solid evidence...

Unless we've had decent images of a well transformed version of the perceptor mold that I haven't seen?

I'm either getting one Perceptor or one Reflector. I don't do any of that buying-a-mold-more-than-once bullshit.

well, did it look good to you?

This is just initial impressions we're talking here. We don't have to wait for perfectly posed, transformed and photographed pictures for that. All I can say from what was apparent is that there wasn't anything in that design that I liked.

I want no part of this. Reflector was/is/always will be a camera. Anything else is entirely lame. Hasbro is throwing a real opportunity to make something cool by going the repaint route here. My nephews would love a camera that turns into three bots, and they are kids. A modern Reflector that still goes from camera to bots would sell like crazy to young and old alike. Instead, Hasbro cheaps out on us and repaints Perceptor. I hope it rots on the shelf.

I think you're overselling the novelty of a toy camera that transforms into three robots.

Even Ejector didn't exactly fly off the pegs.

That is a damn ugly mold and doesn't suit Perceptor OR Reflector IMO.

However, the pic above is too poor to make a full judgement and may also be mistransformed. Will wait for better pics/video review before making my final decision.

I dunno, I kinda agree with bradforj - Hasbro are missing an opportunity to produce an overpriced three-pack here ;-)

That being said, they apparently foresaw the collectors who would buy three of the same toy, so maybe I'm not judging them as I ought to be. XD

Here's how I'm gonna look at it (this is pure fanon and DEFINATLY not official): It's Reflector. It's one robot beacause Viewfinder, Spyglass, and Spectro were destroyed in an explosion and the parts salvaged and rebuilt into one robot.
