Hi Guys, i've always wanted a classics ratchet to go with my collection. so i have a PRID ratchet as my stand in for my classics, but really wanted him to look a bit more G1. i also didn't want to do any modifications on the actual mold so i just made some upgrades for him to have the "G1" look. i popped Prid Ratchet's head out and replaced it with a modified cyb hotshot head, then scratchbuilt a g1 chest/windshield from styrene to snap onto his original chest. i meant to use clear blue plastic for the chest to see through his original chest panels and add to the effect, but i messed up, so i'll just make it on version 2.

i kept the toy as is, just added upgrades. :)

UPDATE: Version 2 with clear blue plastic :)

    thanks for looking!

I was wondering if this could be done. Now to wait for the eventual Ironhide repaint...

i was wondering this too, so i tried it the moment i got my hands on the mold. you wont be seeing an ironhide repaint from me though, as im waiting for the prid deluxe version of him to go with my classics! :)

    thanks

i know, right? they're awesome! they fit right in with the generations line
    thanks!

no problem! i was glad i tried this, i'm pleased with the result, and i didn't have to do some mods on the actual toy :)

He might make a good mold for Blaster. Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like he's got a radio pack, which would be perfect for Blaster, who always struck me as the RTO type. I've been on the fence about buying him, but he looks great with the other classics. Especially with the new chest.

Nice sculpting on the new parts. The chevron on his head seems a bit thick, though.

Thanks for the comments guys! :)

yes, i made grooves/slots for the chast to snap on ratchets collars, and there is sort of a peg/tab that hooks into the cavity where the head is supposed to hide when in altmode.

UPDATE: Version 2 with clear blue plastic :)

    thanks for looking!

That looks fantastic. I had no plans to purchase this Ratchet but now I want to try this as well. Henkei Ratchet is not cutting it. Any plans to remove the red from his shoulders?

thanks. nope, i like the red on the shoulders the way it is. i don't want to make him too white. plus i still want to keep PRIME ratchet intact. :)
