Whew, another late nighter here. Just got some of the finer details done on this guy and wanted to post some alt. mode pics. Title says Generations because this isn't really classics, but isn't really something entirely new either; it's more of something old with a new twist, which falls under the Generations banner perfectly (Perceptor, Kup, etc....). Went with Krylon Fusion White spray as the primer, then jumped to Tamiya Color Pearl White for the outer coat. Went through several different decal sheets to make this guy, but to name a few - AutobotX23's RTS JAZZ decals (thanks Earl!), reprolabels classics Jazz sheet, and several of my model waterslides as well. The spoiler wing was created for me by hXcpunk23(thanks Brian!), and the LED's were inserted by KOOF (from whom I actually had bought this figure from). Bot mode pics will be up by the end of the week. Thanks for looking, your comments are always welcome. And a big thanks for those involved in making this guy a reality for me. Enjoy Folks!

VERY cool! I was wondering what the spoilers looked like in bot mode. The only part I don't like the look of is the hinge on the spoiler but it's totally understandable. This figure is just so cool.

Thanks man! Brian's spoiler is perfect and doesn't really interfere with poseability at all! Yeah, the hinges were from a Rewinder PE mini fig. They work perfect for the movement of up and down (the joint is really tight and able to hold the weight of the spoiler easily), but are a little bulky lookin. Thanks again bro', BTW you've been puttin' some amazing work up lately!

Yeah, it's just a teeny weeny gripe about the hinge. I like how it just blends in with the bot mode. Again, the whole custom is awesome.

Thanks Dan! yeah man, those decals finish him off nicely.
I agree, it's hardly noticeable in bot mode, blends smoothly. Thanks again for the kudos bro'!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, BEAUTIFUL work, my friend! I love the way it all came together. The decals and LED's are just icing on the cake and make this the Jazz we know and love. And OMG, who did that awesome spoiler? ;)  (just joking around--glad you love it and I'm glad you liked my work enough to want one on your custom Jazz). Thanks again for everything and for the shout out, Jason!

This looks really good, but the spoiler does not match the car. Neither in shape, nor in size.

I'm not too sure about that assessment, Porsches had some huge spoilers:

The placement mat be a tad high, but totally understandable considering the figure.

No, thank You sir! Your styrene work is beautiful my friend!
Thanks Hank! I tried to make him just as smooth as I could bro', Jazz wouldn't have it any other way man!
well, contradicting statements, but either way, glad you like it/dislike it? Funny, I think the spoiler matches up fine to the way they did Porsches back then.
And these are all great reasons why I think it does match up just fine. Yeah, a little high, but the leg transformation wouldn't work if placed lower, so definitely understandably so. Thanks for takin' me back in time and doin some diggin for these images Hank!

Not that I feel I should have to defend my work on the spoiler, its size, or the placement of it (given the mold's transformation), but I'll do just that to show why I went with that size and build for it.

I wanted to do a G1-styled spoiler for this mold because the one given to us was honestly too small and looked out of place in its own right. Call it personal preference, call it crazy G1 love, call it the fact that I studied numerous points of reference for this (from the G1 toon, to artwork, to box art, to various Jazz toys). In the end, I chose what I felt was best and what fit this mold, while still being true to its G1 roots, character-wise. This was not meant to be straight G1--think more along the lines of G1-updated, which is what Classics/Universe/Generations was/is.

Here are just some of the references (attached) that I used when building this spoiler (along with many others). We're all entitled to an opinion on it, but now you can see exactly why I went the direction I did and why I built it at the size I did. No argument or anything, just sharing my reasons for building it like this. :)

(and thanks big hank--and yes, the area where the scratchbuilt spoiler is attached is the only area it can really be attached, given the transformation of the Jazz mold......the spoilers need to flip up on hinges to allow the legs to transform properly)

Too hot to handle, too cold to hold. This is one of the best Jazz's I've seen. Love the blue LEDs.
