Surely we will see him eventually, what with the forthcoming release of G2 Prime?
Already done in classics
I'm not really a fan of that version. Perhaps a redeco or a new voyager mold?
Just because you don't like it, that doesn't mean they'll make one.
Classics tank Megatron is a really good toy, missing only a right hand. Though I figure the new G2 Prime will probably be a bit taller and that wouldn't look quite right.
It'd be funny if Hasbro made a G2 Megatron and based it on the unreleased ATB Megatron instead of the tank.
Yeah, despite the already existing Universe G2 Megatron being crappy (and really it was just his one arm that sucked IMHO), I doubt they'll release another one real soon. That having been said, I hope they do release a nicer version of G2 Megs... I'd buy it!
Perhaps some sort of new take on Galvatron that we can dub "G2 Galvatron."
Maybe one with a deco that resembles his Marvel Comics look.
That Classics Tank Megatron really doesn't remind me of the G2 tank version that much. I don't think it's a stretch at all that we'll be seeing a newer version to square off against Laser Prime.
Actually, an IDW Galvatron would be awesome.
between the re-release of Hero Megs as Reverse Convoy, the Bludgeon re-deco and the tank version in classics, and the much-lamented Universe Galvatron, I think they might skip the tank Megs for a while. Shame though, as I agree with the thread starter t would be cool as a re-imagining companion piece to go with the new Laser Prime.
It would be good to see a deluxe in the G2 massive colours. so long as it's not that 2 pack mould. If they remoulded it to have his cannon mounted on his shoulder and a right hand I might be tempted.
It would be good to see the G2 symbols again on some toys at some point too.
They should seriously make an entirely new mold that looks more like an Abrams tank. Possibly Voyager sized since they can do that now.
The most you'd get is the whole forearm replaced and the cannon would be mounted to it. But even that would be a stretch. Remember that after a certain point it becomes more cost effective to just do a fully new figure.
I can't imagine why they wouldn't.
Yes, there already is the other tank Megatron, but he came with a Prime. It only makes sense that they release one also, to rival the Laser Optimus.
Because if they're marketing these toys mainly towards the kids, it's only fitting that they make a toy to rival anothers. Which is why they name drop in the bios in a lot of the figures, so kids have a reason to buy an enemy.
But also with that reasoning, they would've made some Decepticon HA figures.
I don't think the "there's already other tank Megatrons" argument is valid because Generations has two Optimus Prime's already.
I'd like to see it done better.
If we only ever discussed what we knew for sure was happening, traffic in this place would go way way down.
I was just thinking the other day about how awesome a new version of G2 Megs would be. Just because there's been Tank Megatrons before doesn't mean those of us who wish for a better one should stop wishing.
Since Hasbro apparently can't release a gun Megatron at all now, the range of Classically themed alt mode options has narrowed.
There's the legends one.
I wouldn't be all that surprised if Classics G2 Megs got redecoed in purple to be Hero Megs.
Then again, it may not happen, because Hasbro knows their fanbase pretty damn well, and they're probably aware how hated that toy is.
