    Generations/Energon Defensor WIP 65%

    update 9/13/2011

    old post

So this isn't the best point for an update because Hotspots only half done and Defensor is only 65% done.

Blandes is nearly finished and I will do a separate post for him once I get the finishing touches on him.

So it now stands with the aid of a borrowed leg.

I will have another update when I finish Hotspot and for those of you who are looking at hotspot and wondering if it will transform the answer is yes!

In fact I am planning on 4 modes like the original toy, does anyone remember what the for modes are?

    here's a link to Groove

and a link to First Aid

    original post

okay, this is been a lot harder than I expected.

this is my second attempt on first aid the first time I did him completely using the smolder mold just replacing the combine her head with an energon port (which does work) but he was 3/4 inch taller then Groove, this made Defensor stand very funny.

so I scrapped that one and started on a whole new first aid with chunks from quite a few toys and it's now the same height as Groove but I'm having trouble making it transform into an ambulance.

A very nice start so far. I'll follow this and see where it goes. From the looks of things I would say you're trying to keep it in scale with Bruticus and Superion, yes?

Keep up the good work i aiso think the secound first aid(the one made with all them parts is your best bet) i was working on a protecto bot team as well in the same scale but its really in the desgin stage and i was planing on usuing a HFTD breacher as first aid now i might have to rethink it and look at some PCC's for first aid,Blades and streetwise for hotspot i was thinking of the same bodie with Rid prime(to make it more hotspotish) and Groove i might have to do him like you what cycle TF did you use? i was useing a 07 movie cycle but its to small for the connecter piece i thank you for your imsperation (Great minds think a like)

Excellent start! The leg proportions are great, but I'd really reconsider the feet tubing. I think it needs to be something more angular.

Use the Smoulder mold, and then make Groove longer/taller, IMO.

The tilt pad feet are ingenious, I just hope those ball jnts can withstand the inevitable weight.

Interesting and ambitious (in a good way).

Good luck with it! I'll be tuned in to see how it turns out!

I really like what you've done so far with the legs, and the feet are very poseable. Good job!

The second method does make things more balanced, but it looks to be a lot more challenging to get a working First Aid. Would it not be simpler to build half a shin into the foot piece for Groove and use the original configuration? Not saying it's the better method, but it just seems a lot easier is all.

I tend to agree with the likes of Kouri here; it'd probably be easier to extend the Groove leg a fraction than to completely rebuild First Aid to be smaller. I love your work on Hot Spot's legs - the new wheel sections look virtually seamless!

yes I am! I really like the fan projects stuff and I'm hoping to do a majority of the combiners in that style.

I used a G2 road pig for the motorcycle. you can read more about it here

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/349980-generations-energon-groove.html

    me to!:D

The tubing will make a lot more sense when you see my hotspot. lets just say a fire truck needs tubing

this is the advice as looking for Saturday morning. I was stumped and couldn't see such a nice easy solution. thanks for the help. The tilled pad concerns me to I figured if it's to lose I will use some super glue to tighten the joint or I'd add an additional ball joint to reinforcement it.

unfortunately I'm invested in the second method so unless something goes horribly wrong I think I will be sticking with it.

thanks! I'm glad someone appreciated that careful planning!

I like where this is going. I've got my stuff set aside to do a similar project. I may use your idea with the energon port. I havn't decided what to do about grooves though.

Done? Not that I'm aware of. Doing, however, definitely. I know of a few works-in-progress.
