    Hi there,
Well, just got Dirge and Blurr delivered yesterday. I love Dirge but didn't like the wings spliting. There was too much of a gap between the top and bottom wings. So I have joined them both together to give him more of a G1 look. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

    What I did:

I found it easier to do this in jet mode, I will tell why in a minute. First arch the rear wings up and pop off the upper wings. On the upper wings I removed the tabs that join them to the body using a hobby knife (green). Then I glued the top of the wings to the bottom wings (pink). Hold the two pieces together until the glue has bonded enough to join the wings together. Then put the wings back into place on the jet. Doing it this way holds the wings in place really well while the glue hardens. That is all you have to do to get a G1 look to him.

When transforming Dirge, it is better to arch the wings up. If you don't there is a danger of knocking the top section off again when doing the legs.

This mod does not affect the alt mode in any way:

Interesting, but I still think the original upward position on the top small wings look better.

    Thanks for sharing.

Interesting idea, but I won't know if this is a plauseable mod until I own it.

I figured someone would do this sooner or later, and I must say it always looked like a bad idea to me since it would hinder articulation drastically. So no.

I do admit that leg articulation is a little restricted. However, as it is, I have got a few good poses out of him. I am considering removing the black wing hinge and attaching it to the wing instead. That will free up the leg a bit more.

It's a toss up for me. I see where you were going, and why, but something just looks off in the 'bot mode. I don't like the way it forms a gap around the upper legs. The wings just look sorta tacked on, not itergrated enough. It's a good start for sure but I think it needs some more work.

I like this. It's simple, yet effective. The only way to really get the most out of it is to do that, and also if the jet thrusters were able to rotate, so that the wing rotates around to the back. But as it is, I can definitely see the more G1 likeness out of it.

I like this as well. I'm happy with my Dirge as is, but I can certainly see why you'd do this. Thanks for sharing! :thumb

It looks pretty good. I might have to try this with mine.
