UPDATE #2: It is now 100% finished, new pics added on page 4 (UPDATE: Alt mode pics on page 2) It's 99% finished, only thing I'm waiting on is a tech spec meter from XSilverboltX's Shapeways store (which is the same place I bought the headmaster head and rifle). Plus, I may still go back and do some minor detailing. Props to all of those that have done this custom before. Anywho, on to the details... Generations Red Alert was the base figure, in addition to the repaint I used the aforementioned G1-style rifle and transforming Headmaster head (great stuff, again courtesy of XSilverboltX & Shapeways). I also added some bits to his arms, to help better reflect the tech-y look that the original G1 figure had. I'll try to post alt-mode pics later tonight, and of course post pics of the 100% finished product once the tech spec meter arrives. As always, comments & critiques are welcome.
gosh this is banging, real clean paint apps and the mold looks fantastic! good to see that shapeways head too! What does the alt mode look like? oh and the headmaster, because whenever I look at it on shapeways it appears to have no head haaha
Gorgeous work man, I have a headless Sunstreaker laying around here that could do with the same treatment. Everything is great, looking forward to the vehicle mode shots and he'll be truly bangin when you get his tech spec reader on there.
Looks better than I thought it would to be honest, shame the internal mechanism for the car roof can't be gutted so the headmaster can sit inside.

I dig it. It's always really hard to jump on a shapeways purchase when a lot of the more interesting projects lack well-photographed examples of their work looking good in the wild. If you wouldn't mind I would personally dig a little info about what you had to do to the head to make it look as nice as you did- surely it wasn't as simple as paint 'n' assemble? I don't love the Lambo mold for this, but that's nobody's fault. It's what the head was designed for and it really is the best existing mold for the job.. it just sucks because it's the best existing mold for a lot of jobs. Still, excellent work.
I knew someone was going to finish before me! : At least it was but someone whose work I like! The head is really nice and I recommend it. Any chance of Stylor & altmode in general pics soon? Did you get the chest piece too or no?
Cool if you get another rifle then that would be a g1 ish interpretation I guess with the art fire coming from million publishing the next figure would be chromedome
