I can easily say the same thing about WFC/FOC because their alt modes are smashed cardboard boxes with wheels.

I use that term very loosely.

    Very loosely.

Which means they fit pretty well with most of the other Cybertronian modes we saw on the cartoon and in Marvel Comics.

All I'm saying is that the WFC stuff at least leaves you with the excuse. The robots can modify their appearance and have had millions of years of opportunity to do so. You can imagine that at one point or another over their millions-of-years lives, they maybe chose to look something like these WFC designs.

Meanwhile, Classics is supposed to be modern day stuff, and we can say definitively that the characters didn't look like that in the G1 stories set in the present day.

I'm not clamoring for toys of those either.

Fair enough. But I've liked most of the WFC designs pretty well, so I'm okay with this.

& the remainder of those 29 figures will probably just be a whole heap of WFC/FOC remolds & repaints. Obviously Hasbro doesn't want my money...

I really think they do stuff like that to make cetain figures a a collectable. Look at dotm ha wave one. They wanted a repainted twin and surely they knew how hard to find mudflap was, but instead of releasing a repaint of him what did the do? A repaint of skids, which in many stores sat right next to the original.

This. They don't like 3rd party products but they won't take time to fill in the holes that the 3rd parties do.

Apparently, they don't want/need mine either.

    This.

He was one of my favorites and the only love he has gotten is from Animated (which was fun, but I would LOVE to see an updated Classics version).

Yup, though I will probably buy the FOC stuff since it will be relatively cheap, I am sure there will be plenty of stuff for me to spend my money one, Throttlebots, whatever combiner TFC does, rumored Menasor, igear minibots, etc. I told myself I wasnt going to collect Prime toys and I am balls deep in that, so who knows on this FOC stuff (Still have my 5 WFC figures somewhere).

Im sure they will throw us a few G1 Classic style bones here and there in it, so I am not too worried. FOC Bruticus still looks goofy to me.

Didn't buy WFC, won't be buying FOC so I'm a happy camper. Unless the Dinobots are released then all bets are off.

It's quite sad seeing how many people fail to read the part about Generations STARTING with FOC before moving on to other characters, including novels and the comics before going on rants.

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but the amount of G1 characters B-list and above is dwindling rapidly. Hasbro has to have a way to keep the big names in their books and on the shelves. So new versions of these guys, plus gimmicked sections like FoC, are the only way to drag the line out long enough to squeeze in the more obscure guys.

They don't wanna get to the point where there's no one worth caring about to release. I know some fans would joygasm to get Hubcap, Reflector, Dogfight, and Freeway in a wave together, but that's bad for business.

Plus they have to keep some slots open for the future like Arcee, Springer, Blitzwing and Trailbreaker....

Can't do everyone all at once.....then what?

Then maybe we see some creative new ideas show up for a change.

Actually, I'm kind of curious to know if eventually, since they need to keep releasing versions of Starscream and Optimus and such to keep the rights to their names, we might not see Classics styled versions of the Devil's Due Joe/TF Crossover designs. A Transforming Starscream Night Raven has always been something I'd love to see as a toy.

Don't see what the G1 one fans are getting so ruffled up about. WFC/FoC is pretty much just space-G1.
