So CG render WIP for Sideswipe and a 90% done render for Primal.

I hope these guys are coming out soon after Defensor.

 

I'll say what I said in the Sideswipe thread: these designs are pretty cool, but I don't know that I'm down for a whole line of them.

 

I need this and their Sideswipe. Will pass on Primal.

Call me old fashioned but I prefer my Transformers convert into cars and jets... Not a BW fan...

That being said, if an organic alt mode is NOT articulated with elbows, wrists, spines and tails, I am turned off.

If this thing has tons of joints, I'm in. But it wont be Rodimus on my shelf...

Where do these designs come from? The appear to be from some sort of official Takara book.

 

If he Looks good with Lionides that would count for a lot. Otherwise, eh.

It came from Generation Toys. Some fan artists are pretty damned skilled, yo.

 

So is the Kuramochi Zukan group officially part of Generation toys now? Because that's where these designs are from. They are also the same guys who did those Beast Gundams under "Atelier Tobiou" name (eg: GUNDAM GUY: Nostaligic Fiction: Gundam Beast). They've been doing beast mechs for a quite a long time now (which includes other franchise like Virtual-On, KanColle), so I hope they are at least credited by GT.

Examples(from google, can't find higher res ones, but these are from their doujin art books). Coolest part of these is that they made Sideswipe a bull and Jazz a stallion, because, you know, Lamborghini and Porsche

 

I didn't realize these artworks were previously published, so I assumed they were Generation Toys concepts. My bad.

That makes this project significantly less random. Still somewhat random, but now moreso on the part of the original artists. This is just GT seeing that artbook, and thinking it'd be cool to turn those designs into reality.

 

Ah, that's cool. Part of me really hope the teamup is official because that means we'll be having more of these from GT, much like how MMC is going all IDW for their main line.
