I've kept @LazyAza's post open for a few weeks now, I hadn't actually even looked at the price. I had no idea it was that cheap, no more reason to put it off then.

Just a recommendation regarding the beast mode head... Pull the face forward just enough to give it a natural ape cranial profile instead of the Minecraft head. It really helps as far as my eyes are concerned. See the difference below...

Agreed, it came to just under $8, the site also gave me a 10% coupon for signing up with a free account

Really loving this figure! It's going to be one of my favorites! I particularly love how the beast mode looks. It's just absolutely amazing to me!

Ok so could someone please for the love of god please tell me (or better yet show) just how these parts are meant to go together.

    gorihead.jpg

I've tried every arrangement that actually allows the head to be assembled. None of them work. I've bought three types of batteries. I am losing my mind. It makes absolutely no sense, it's so damn simple a setup but I am absolutely baffled right now.

Don't Give up, let me see if I could help you (sorry, I am at work and do not have the figure to take pictures of). It helps to have tweezers and do this during the day time as my hands are less shaky:
    1. I ordered these batteries from amazon, you only need ONE battery (positive side up on the +) and they work: 10 Pcs CR927 3V Lithium Battery Button Cell for Watch Calculator(pack of 10).
    2. Place that little blue piece, using tweezers if you can, on the back part of the head. Be sure to align the angle of the blue piece properly, just flip it over if you need to.
    3. Place the Light up circuit piece (I'm not too techy) green side facing up. Yes the white button on the light up piece is facing away from the back of head.
    4. Place the front face on and carefully place back the screw and DO NOT tighten all the way.
    5. Place the entire head at an angle first on the neck post and slide down to the other side (tricky part since the front and back pieces of the head need to be parted partially).
Reading through your previous posts, it seems you tried the proper batteries and it does not work. Unfortunately you may have a bad light unit. I would contact your seller asap. Or worst case scenario, just take the eye piece out and paint them.
I really enjoyed your review on youtube. Your enthusiasm got me to purchase this figure as I was on the fence about it. Keep up the great reviews and I hope this helps.

Sigh, thanks. Yeah think you've just confirmed what I feared all along. Must be the circuit then after all this. Tried your directions, which was a setup I already did so if that is indeed the correct method then yuuuup dead circuit. :(  Guess I'll be emailing actionrobo then.

Nice...but can’t the little ape axe bots become guns? And if so can Primal weird them?

Yes they do become guns, but sadly no he cannot hold them properly... only all crooked. Primal does not believe in guns, that's why he never got the forearm cannons. He has no problems with back mounted rocket launchers though!

I got my Gorilla last Friday along with the 4 new Unique Palm Collection guys, TFC Sidearm, and BeastBox Ghostdog. He's the second-biggest 3P purchase for me after PE Warden (I'm not counting the Asura Knights 5pack). I didn't get him as Optimus so much as 'giant friggin' mecha-monkey to slap SnakeEyes around' so I'll be making a few tweaks to solidify him in best-articulated gorilla mode. He's gonna be stupid-awesome in that role.

And yeah, them PE mini-monkeys are an instant sale seeing them here. Gracias!
