I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed that GT did not take the opportunity to add ratchets at least for the hips/legs. It would have made a B+ or even an A- figure into A to A+ level for me. Down the road, I will still get this new recolor even though they did not make any physical improvements. I have the previous deco version and it's become one of my favorite pieces in my collection.

 

Thanks bud. appreciated. Not many differences but what this does tell me is I should have waited til the new version came out. lol. Hmmm maybe I'll be the new one so I can duel wield guns.  

 

I feel more impressed with gt prime instead of the megatron lol. Beyond my expectation. Feel well built, no loose joint. I dont even need to tighten the screw. I repaint some part to follow first release.

 

...i'm not blaming the toy: it was stupid in the comics, too, dragged down an otherwise-cool design which honestly never looked much like megatron, so i guess it was there to remind us who he was...

Ahhhhh, I have never ever read a page of comics but once I picked up MMC Tarn, I just can't stop as they look so so so so good. Am very tempted to buy GT Prime and GT Megatron and I think you are not alone.

Btw, when can we expect more video reviews from you? Still owe you a lot as I prevent my KFC opticlones from stress marks by following the steps in your video.

 

I'm in the same boat! I picked up MMC Tarn, Overlord, and GCreations Sixshot.. and that led to the other two DJD members from MMC. That combo alone is just.. amazing! I ended up getting their Drift, Wing, and Impactor too and JUST purchased GCreations Prowl for $40 with ebay bucks.. so I suppose I've been trending towards the more Cybertronian designs? Oh.. and I got GenerationToys Menasor... basically I'm all over the place with my IDW stuff lol

Also thank you for remembering my channel! haha it's been actual years now since I did a review. I loved it but I'm full steam into painting and streaming at the moment so there's just no time.

I feel fortunate to also have an OP EX with no loose joints. I'm just kind of bummed that they did not take the opportunity to make this even better. Subjective opinion, I guess. As it is, it's a really good Prime, and my favorite looking Prime.

the black version is such an odd out of nowhere release, even Generation toy themselves never announced it.

 

I can't say how he'll be down the road, but the joints on this new version are a lot better than the previous version that I owned. I had to tighten some screws and apply some future on my older copy but this one was good out of the box.

 

Yeah, that just makes me want MPM 7 even more....

 

Wish there were better pictures of the Nemesis version to be found out there. That looks interesting...

 

I picked up the recolor of this the other day and I was surprised to see the stripes on the side of truck mode / on his arms are still silver. I could have sworn the early pictures showed that they were being changed to white, like Ultra Maxmas. Did that get changed during production, or did I just completely imagine that was ever happening?

 

I wish this version had more ratchets... 

 

Anyone the best places that have the new/recolor version in stock?

Generation Toy GT-03 LEADER OP EX (IDW Colors)

Have not seen it anywhere in stock except taobao.

 

Any recommendations on alternate articulated hands for this guy? Tried the KFC and Eness MP10 hands, and while they attach, they are a bit oversized, and much too large for him to transform with.
