Thanks for the comments guys. I'm amazed that people think the artwork has improved as I got quite lazy with the shading towards the end. Without giving too much away the second part continues with the Autobots attempting to flee to safety and introduces a couple of as of yet unseen fan favourite characters. Out of curiousity what were peoples reactions to the mask-less Prime and Grimlock being shot to pieces. (both of which were relatively late additions to the script) Thanks.

Mask-less Prime - I'm assuming he lost it in the crash. He looks a lot like Magnus, was that deliberate? I'm fine with it, as long as he doesn't look anything like the snarling monster revealed when I took the faceplate off my 20th anniversary Optimus.

Grimlock being shot - like all good tragedy it manages to be both inevitable yet still shocking. And pretty moving, too.

Would you mind if I tried colouring one or two frames? I'm no professional by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd love to try.

Please do. I'd love to be able to colour them but the lack of time and computer skill limits what I can do - even pencil shading can take a lot of time unfortunately. If you're looking for good ones to shade there's a couple I'm particularly proud of coming up in the next issue so feel free to use any you want.

I wanted to show a bit of variety with Prime and I'm very fond of the notion of detachable combat masks that I believe the 'God' Don Figueroa introduced with Bumblebee in War Within 1. (later seen in DW G1 ongoing with both Brawn and Bumblebee) It's kind of laying by his face in the frame at the bottom of p4 but is not that distinct from the debris. I did use the same face method as with magnus, which involves putting lines from the nose to the cheekbones then tracing across to the ears and down to the jaw. I think it works better on the older and more distinguished TFs than the simple 'outline' of the cheekbone I use on most of the TFs.

As for old Grimlock I would have liked to have drawn it out longer but it seems to have worked OK in just a couple of pages. The concept behind it was one I started in the previous issue with Grimlocks guilt over the whole nucleon affair and what suffering his fellows may later have to endure as a result. Optimus made his disapproval and disappointment very clear in that issue also and so added to Grimlocks trauma. Basically I thought it would be a good way to add some depth to the story in that Grimlock tries to redeem himself for his sins by sacrificing himself to allow the others time to escape. Is he dead? Have to wait and see - in the TF universe nothing is quite what meets the eye...

I had a quick go at colouring page 1. I'm not happy with panel 2, need to come back to that one later on. Great work, bluestreak. :D

That'll be my fault. I haven't quite finished with page 12 yet but soon as I have I'll post it up on page 1. It's just a general info page to accompany the story rather than being integral to it. Cheers.

I've had a try at colouring a page from an earlier issue. Page 2, issue 82. Obviously it's still very much a work in progress, but I'd be happy if Bluestreak or anyone else could give me some feedback. I've also included the uncoloured page as a reminder.

Cheers and thanks for the opportunity. More story please, Bluestreak! :D

Looking good! Galvatron looks as he should in Marvel / toy colours. Anyone else please feel free to post comments as Wreckie and I are discussing a more long-term collaboration on future issues and would love some input as to what readers would think.
