At first, the registration prices killed my chances of going to Botcon. But I just checked out the Botcon page and found that General Admission is $20 for Saturday and Sunday. Scheduling issues aside, I can probably go for that price. But what sort of "restrictions" are there with General Admission, if any? The website doesn't say much. I found in the brochure that the dealer room is already open for an hour and a half before General Admission starts (half an hour for Early Bird). I did a search in this forum and found that General Admission attendees can attend panels if there's still room after the Pre-Reg attendees go in. Is there anything else, or do I have it covered? I'd really like to go this year since it's close enough to drive and stay with family instead of getting a hotel. *EDIT* Oh yeah, I realize all the cool Wednesday-Friday perks and exclusive toys are out of the question.
General Admission is a great way to go if you are on a budget. People complain about how expensive Fun Pub's shows are, but I don't think the previous administration offered a way to come for a cost as low as this. I've heard people make "second class" attendee comments - Yea, maybe a little. You do get into the dealer room later. But I don't know of anyone who's ever been turned away from a panel.
