When you buy your toys are you looking for a G1 homage or something new?

    Me, I'm moderate.

    I'm ok with both.

But, I did repaint my Universe Dinobot to look more BEASTWURZ.

I actually look for Diaclone references. So Powered Commnander TFCON exclusive is definitely a win-win situation for me.

Unfortunately that's probably the most we'll see of diaclone.

All my display pieces are G1 accurate, but I'm not non-G1 intolerant.
I've got an animated Blackarachnia in there, she kicks ass.
And movie Jazz with G1 paint > old Hasbro or Diaclone Jazz. I think Transformers should, you know, be ABLE TO STAND UP

I chose G1 because G1 is a line that never saw it's full potential. As nostalgic as the blocky goodness was, it's fantastic to see updates with articulation and greater fiction accuracies.

I think the later lines got way more correct in the toy lines. I mean, it's not like anyone wants an Cybertron Jetfire homage nearly as bad as people would want a better G1 Jazz homage.

I love G1, but have no problems with seeing the series evolve (such as the movies and Animated). Heck, I even like the Anime Transformers shows (well, except Energon).

The last ten years have featured dozens of G1 homages, which is fine... but let's have some NEW ones. Most of the 1984 line has already been represented in some way, some several times like Ironhide (Botcon '05 & Universe 2).

Poor Trailbreaker has been limited to one repainted Spychanger, and I'd like to see some love for second-string guys like Windcharger, Gears, or Pipes, too.

I'm fine with both. Though I love to see new creations, and with homages I don't really care how specific it is, just as long as it gets the general idea of the character it's homaging.

I like variety in my Transformers. BW and G1 are my two favorite TF lines in both toys and shows. Complete polar opposites of each other.

I grew up with G1, but it wasn't until the 2007 movie that my TF interest came back again. ( didn't care for G2, BeastWars, Energon, Armada and RID )

So, basically I love the (Henkei) Classics/Universe line and the upcoming ROTF line.

I like it both ways. While I'm not "Geewun only or it's crap!", a good homage or Universe/Classics remake will get me going. Then again, my favorite Animated toy/character is Bulkhead, who's probably one of the least homagey of anything in Animated (unless you are convinced he's actually Hound because he's green with white stars :)  )

I want a new g1 style cartoon but I wish it could focus on the other characters besides optimus and megatron. I have had my fill of them and would like to have a whole series go by with not one shot of them.

Plus I want to see flywheels as a main decepticon character.

I'm fine with G1 homages and I still buy them, but I also think it's time for a change in the TF lines, after years of G1 redux (Classics/Universe 2.0) and "Ultimate G1" (Animated). The movie line is definitely satisfying my wish for a fresh, new aesthetic after years of stagnation, but I worry about the future of the franchise once the film series comes to an end.

I like both, but I am getting slightly bored of G1 based stuff by now.

Edit - Or what Scantron said.

A large part of my collection is G1, including all the stuff I had as a kid. When I'm buiying new stuff, however, I don't just look for homages; they're a nice touch, and I do appreciate them, but I look for a good toy first, and connections to other lines second.

    No.

I'm looking for a good design overall, be it G1, BW, original or even reference to another media.
