I was in NH over the weekend and paid $2.99. The pumps near me are around $3.06 I think.

$3.07 at one place in Dallas.
It was the only one I happened to check though.

    I paid $2.96 on Sunday.

I am all for an open and free market, but it kills me that the oil companies claim they have all these delays and troubles with refining, transportation and the like, but then post record setting profits. All of them.

How is that all these problems are causing costs to go up at the pump, but they don't translate into production costs for the company?

One would think that the higher production cost would offset the higher price at the pump and their profits would be around the same.

And even facing growing gas prices, people still don't conserve, whether it's because they can't or won't. Hybrids aren't always an option, nor the ultimate solution. Oil companies know we need gas. So I guess we'll be stuck with it for a time.

    Biking FTW. I get 10 miles/meal.

I actually had to fill up this weekend for a drive outside the city, think it was about $3.10. Can't remember last time it broke $3/gallon in GA.

Right now we are charging $3.29 in St. Cloud. I think it will stay that price or slightly go down.

3.15$ Here in Buffalo. It's fun when you go to work in the morning, thinking you should get gas then, but no..You have enough to get to work with, you'll get it later..Then you get home only to find it's gone up over .05$ since you left..

It's odd how when it goes up--it JUMPS to newer higher prices..Yet when it goes down, it's like at a fraction of a cent every couple days.

And theres no one protesting it..Just bitching about it. We're a weird people.

Thats what they do...Prices jump astronomically high then they slowly come down but just enough so that they raised the price per gallon higher than what it previously had been.

First the priced jumped from $1 a gallon to $2 a gallon(2000-2002), people bitched, and eventually the price goes down to $1.50. Not too bad, gas averages $1.75.

Next event occurs, and gas jumps back up to $2.50 a gallon, people complain gas goes back down to $2.00 though and not the original price.

The oil companies are very sneaky in their ability to raise and lower gas price just enough to get keep from reacting violently to the surges.

I foresee gas being $4 a gallon by the end of the summer, and eventually it'll lower until $3 rather than $2.25(2006-2007 average) is the new national average. In the meantime, the oil companies will continue to report 900% record breaking profits every year.

It's around $3 a gallon here in the Allen/Plano area. This is ridiculous...and it's not even summer yet. I bet you it'll be $4 dollars before it's all over.....

Now they're just making any excuse to jack up prices. Hurricanes, supply and demand, the wrong people farting.....everything drives up prices. It's funny how it didn't used to be this way...

do what I do and get a push reel mower. It cuts your grass better than a powered push mower and required no gas.

Can't let your grass get too long though.
