Earlier this morning as I was watching the news, I flipped through the channels and heard a familiar voice. It was Garry Chalk doing the voice of a giant on a PBS kids show known as Dragon Tales. PBS? Dragon Tales? I guess he just no longer is a draw like he used to be.

I don't see your point. everything animated needs voices. he isnt some voice-acting superstar. he's just another actor.

Looks like he still gets plenty of work.

Voice acting doesn't exactly pay a lot and its hard work to even get. Chalk is actually one of the busier actors out there.

I heard that Garry and David (Kaye) didn't even really need to do the dub work on the last few TF series - they could get better work elsewhere, but they did it because they love working on TF.

Pssh, Garry Chalk's been pretty busy keeping our galaxy safe from the invading forces of the Ori... too bad he had to go down with his ship.

Did Colonel Chekov actually die? I'm hoping its just something like a scene they cut, like when the Atlantis team handed back that girl they kept prisoner to the Genii.

And I believe Garry himself said that he does NOT like doing dub work like the AEC series, he prefers the "traditional" method of voices first, animation second, like the various Canadian series he's done (like the Beast series)

RIP Colonel Chekov... Garry Chalk made a great "Russian" in SG-1 and I was sorry when he went up with the Korylev in Season 10. Seeing as he'd been a reccuring guest since season 5, I don't think he's been 'unemployed'.

Are we sure Chekov's dead? It was never actually mentioned if he died or not when the Korolev went down. Hopefully he'll make an apperance in the second DVD movie.

Also, sad to see he hasn't got a role so far on TF Heroes.

Well, it's assumed that everyone on the Korylev got blown up, except for Daniel. Now the series is over, (pretty decent ending, BTW) and I don't think there's room for him in Atlantis, assuming they can rationalize a way for him not to be dead.

Not to pick on you, strscrm, but how is doing work for PBS equal to a downturn in your career? PBS is on in every home that has a TV. Cartoon Network, the current home of Transformers shows, is not.

Not to mention that many major stars do PBS shows all the time. John Ritter did Clifford the Big Red Dog during the time he starred in his hit sitcom 8 Simple Rules. PBS is highly respected.
