Who else wants to see Gargoyles in Kingdom Hearts games? i'd love to see them have a comeback in that game franchise.
I remember reading a script, dunno if this was fan fiction or not that was set in the far future when an alien race conquered Earth and the Gargoyles along with Demona formed a resistance unit.
It wasn't fanfiction, it was one of Greg Weisman's (the creator) long range plans for a spin-off amongst others, such as The Dark Ages, Timedancer and Pendragon. Called Gargoyles 2198, it was set far in the future when the Space-spawn (the same aliens Nokkar was fighting) take over the Earth and a resistance is formed to fight them off, which Demona reluctantly joins. Not a particularly big fan of this concept, considering I don't think aliens have any place in Gargoyles, just like they don't in Indiana Jones.
It would certainly have been interesting; but I agree - Gargoyle's has a very clear and sensible outline of modern day mixed with mythology and magic: adding Aliens would be a bit trite.
Yeah, that was the story where Brooklyn was going to get sent to the future and then come back much older and stuff.
It was going to happen, but the comics were canceled before things even got moving. The series just stopped after 8 issues and 3 Bad Guys issues (I have all of the issues that came out), which was bullshit. It wasn't bad enough that the issues were being released like every 3 months, but then Wiseman kept making all of these promises to the series of what was going to come, what was being planned, all of these side stories, and crap, and then the series just ends after 8 issues before anything is even told. He didn't give anything a conclusion, making it one of the biggest wastes of my time and money.
The ending did get put into the last comic where we got to see Brooklyn aged 40 years & meet his wife, son and "Eggwardo" their soon-to-be secondborn. The "Clan-Building" comics are definitely worth picking up btw. Well-drawn and keeps up the same excellent storytelling.
The "Bad Guys" comic or the "Clan-Building" comic? Brooklyn's family appeared in the trade paperback of Clan Building, which consists partly of material from four more canceled single issues.
Of course they did paperbacks, check online or amazon.com. They should continue doing Gargoyles comics by having Marvel do them. Maybe even a Spider-Man/Gargoyles crossover would be nice, i always thought of that concept since 2010 after Disney bought Marvel, i mean it sounds like a reasonable crossover since the characters are from New York as much as Spidey is. Xanatos and Kingpin working together plus seeing Spider-Man thinking the gargoyles are the enemy in a battle then after that comes a misunderstanding as they team up to battle Xanatos and Kingpin. And for anyone who's a fan of the show, did you all know some of the designers and writers/producers like Eric Randomsky and Michael Reaves did Batman TAS and Spawn TAS as well? you can tell this show is from those same guys, even Spawn had the feel of an R-rated Batman TAS/Gargoyles. Keith David even played Spawn as he is perfect as both Goliath and that character.
just a FYI to everyone. Disney is streaming all eps on their DisneyShows youtube channel. 720P too. Yes im sure you could already find it but at least its in one place and there's no chance of it being removed due to copyright. ‘Gargoyles’ Available to Stream on YouTube – Spinoff Online – TV, Film, and Entertainment News Daily oh yes, i know what i'll be doing this weekend
I know I'm dredging this thread up from the abyss, but I've been watching the hell out of this series after I got all the season sets for Christmas. I skipped season one since I used to watch those eps on my own VHS tapes, so I started with season 2. The "world tour" eps in particular I haven't seen for the longest time. What a remarkable achievement this series is in TV animation, showing what Disney was capable of when trying to recreate the more serious tone of show like Batman: TAS. What sets this show apart from standard Disney TV fare: the characters actually learn, change, and grow as the series progresses. The villains in particular are very well developed. I believe it was the first cartoon ever to feature a main character of mixed race (Elisa is part African-American and part Native American). Plus, you have the unique romance between Elisa and Goliath, feelings they both attempt to ignore because they understand the difficulties it would cause. I'm pretty sure I audibly gasped when I saw Elisa kiss Goliath.
