ordered Prince of Persia last week. it arrived today and i got the limited edition instead. woot!
I bought the Sonic Adventure DX guide for a penny at Gamestop once......that's probably as cool as it's ever gotten with them.
LOOLOOLOLOLOL are joking..
and i dont care where i get my games.. as long as they are CHEEP.
Gamestop is never win.
Just more evidence of what f*ckups they are.
Nope. Tag said 14 bucks, rang up for 1 cent twice, so I got it for a penny.
Any business that are so eager to bite the hand that feeds needs putting down, hard.
What sucks about gamestop is it's the only place to get older or lesser known games in the US.
So if I wanna buy a game like "Arcana Heart" or something I have to choice but to go to gamestop.
for anything else, Best Buy or bust.
I've refused to buy anything from Gamestop this year. Only time I caved was ordering their exclusive Halo 3 Spartan figure back in March or so, mostly because I didn't have the spare cash to go Epay.
Pardon my ignorance, but what's so bad about Gamestop? We're only starting to see them in my neck of the woods.
Otherwise we've got Microplay and EB Games, which I think the latter is owned by Gamestop.
I officially committed to buying from Game Crazy by getting their MVP card. 3 bucks for Morrowind, and all of their used games are up to 10 bucks cheaper than GS, and these are current releases. I have friends that work at GS so I won't ever stop supporting them completely, but I like saving money too.
Wish the 4 Gamestop around me would shut down I about kicked some employee ass for mouthing off to my wife. They should change the name to "Idiots that lie to your face to sell you shit".
I'd say that answers the question.
Nothing much, aside form the fact that most of their employees are ignorant dumbasses.
I had some guy all but force me to buy the 360 version of Ghostbusters. He knows I have both systems, but my friends all have PS3s, so I wanted to play online with them, so when I got up there, he asked, "Why aren't you getting the PS3 version?" and I explained (even though I really didn't need to), and he said, "You know the 360 version is better," And I told him, "Yes, but my friends aren't playing on the 360." And he gave me a look like "your loss, dumbass."
I hate it when they do shit like that. They always try to make you buy the game they want or discourage you from buying a game they don't like.
That and their damn sucky discount card.
That's the reason I went to Gamecrazy. I saw games that were 55bucks used at Game Stop for 45 at GC. I don't really know TOO many jerks, but definitely people who want to push their system of choice or game of choice on you. One thing is to make honest suggestions when you are looking to buy a new game or system, another is to put down what you have already chosen to buy.
That and when my ex wife used to work there as a manager the DM used to make her exployees feel like shit, and no, not because they were rude to people, because they weren't, but because they couldn't sell enough of those game warantees. It's like Dude, most adults take care of their games, they don't need to protect their games, so you will naturally not get as many sales for it.
yeeeeaaaah, gamestop sucks, and most of their employees around here do too.
they tried to sell me a copy of resident evil for the gamecube that had a crack starting at the center of the disc, and went all the way to the edge. "it'll play fine", the man said "fuck you", I said.
another gamestop sold a kid that was obviously in elementary school god of war for the PSP.
and yet another gamestop, I saw a woman tell a long-time employee that she needed halo 3. he asked for what system.
I have 3 close by... I only go to one of them. The guys are cool, know what they are talking about, and are an absolute riot. These guys know how to perform customer service too. When I was there for the Ghostbusters game release, a guy came in to buy a game (which one, I forget). and it had some scratches. The employee wasn't sure about it but the customer bought it anyway. An hour later the guy comes back, asking for another copy. They were out of stock, so they called the surrounding GS stores to see if they had any... and they did.
So, yeah, guess I'm lucky and have a quality GS by me ^_^
wow. i didn't know they were hated that much. i haven't had any problems with them. i ordered my games from them online anyway so i don't know what experience i would have if i go to their stores.
WOW, the GS employees around my way need to train some of the ones at you guy's stores. all my experiences have been pleasant.
