Heh, that last part is a little crazy
It's good to get strict on this, but firing the manager is a bit much.
Okay that's just TOTALLY unfair.
I mean firing the Manager is unfair either way. But firing him/her even if they aren't on duty at the time
But it's good that they're implementing plans to take some responsibility. But firing the manager is not the right move
I doubt any DM will enforce this
Hopefully this will mollify the kneejerk parent groups. I seriously doubt this will be enforced, and even if it is, it will not be the manager's sole offense for termination.
Overall, I say good, but the whole firing of the managers even if they aren't there is a bit much.
i wish they'd implemented this ages ago, im sick of hearing little kids talking crap over xbl, especially games that are rated 18.
I work right beside a GameStop, and I have kids asking me to buy M games for them all the time, which I DON'T!
theres way around that
and most parents dont look at the ratings ne way
if i were a manager and i find that one of the guys sold a game to a minor and got me fired, he better pray that i dont find him cause his ass is getting sent to the hospital in a bad way.
I hate it when people are punished for the actions of others. That's just chickenshit of the highest order.
That said, aside from that, I'm all for people getting shitcanned for breaking the law.
The manager thing is put in as a way to ensure that everyone takes it seriously. I was a store manager for a corporation who did everything out of fear of litigation. The company will do what it has to, to protect itself. By putting something at stake for the store manager they make sure the manger is holding everyone accountable for something that has been made a big issue by parents. It kind of sucks, but a big corporation does not care about the individual employee, typically. Manager or not.
They always enforce it on me, and I just have my mom give them the thumbs up.
Firing the manager is a bit much but I'm all for firing of the employee.
Hmm, I could see people doing this as a way to get even. They go out. but so does a manager someone "hates."
Fire the employee, fine. Fire the manager for not firing the employee, even better. Firing the manager before he's had a chance to fire the employee? Totally sucks.
Lawls. Nice. I don't have to deal with that crap anymore now that I am 18. I work at Zellers and I've been offered to go into the electronicssection. And if I like the kid, i might sell them an M game.
As far as I understand it, it is not against the law to sell a game to a minor.
It is just an 'advisory' just like the cd's that have the Parental Advisory labels.
