The XBox Live Arcade line-up is practically anemic. With companies like Midway, Konami, Namco and Capcom producing titles for the download service, here are a list of games I would like to see, or could be offered for download from each company. Microsoft needs to get these guys in gear to compete with Nintendo's Virtual Console releases.

    Note:
I am purposefully leaving off licensed games as they are unlikely releases in any case.

    Konami:
    Blades of Steel
    Super Contra
    Life Force
    Rush N Attack
    Gradius Series
    Jackal
    Sunset Riders
    Any other Castlevania

    Midway:
    Super High Impact Football
Almost all other games already in inexpensive compilations

    Capcom:
Entire Street Fighter Series ( I know they are compiled, but you know Capcom)
    Cyberbots
    Darkstalkers Series
    Power Stone
    Rival Schools
Star Gladiator (I loved this game for soem reason)
    Saturday Night Slam Masters
Resident Evil Series (mainly 1-3 could be released)

    Namco:
    All Pac-Man Games (Pac-man jr, Pac-Land, etc.)
Xevious (especially if they release the PS1 3D version)
    Splatterhouse (was an arcade game)
    Soul Edge (aka Soul Blade)

I tried to leave off a lot of games that are already in easyily obtainable compilations.

There is a slew of computer games from the '80s that I think could be revamped very successfully for Live Arcade, but I don't know how many here would remember them. Some examples:

    Archon / Archon II

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archon_II:_Adept

    Ballblazer

    Lode Runner

    Boulder Dash

    Choplifter

    Dino Eggs

And for a more recent one:

    Scorched Earth

I wonder if Nintendo has a lot of exclusivity rights to these games.

    Rare:
    Super Battletoads (arcade game)

    Capcom:
    Captain Commando
    Final Fight

    Konami:
    Solar Assault Gradius (Revised version)

Super Contra and Rush N Attack are already on the slate.

Xexex is where its really at with Konami shooters, amazing looking game that was pretty much ignored on release since it came out around the same time as SF2. It'd be a monster of a port job thougth, assuming the work hasent already been done for another compilation already.

Slam Masters is still a surprisingly good game. As far as Street Fighter goes, XBLA needs Super Turbo and Third Strike. Darkstalkers could be covered with something along the lines of the Saturn version of Vampire Savior.

There needs to be more arcade sticks available for the system before any of this stuff thougth.

Assuming that its the same one that was in the arcade, Xevious 3D-G is the title your thinking of.

On the topic of Pac, Mania was the best derivitive after Ms and Plus IMO. Land is not half as good as it is commonly remembered as being.

I remember Lode Runner, Boulder Dash and Choplifter. There was some mention a while ago of Lode Runner possibly coming to XBLA, but never anything solid.

i'd be all over blades of steel, life force and 'any other castlevania'.

lode runner and boulder dash would be neat. they're timeless. though i'm starting to get boulder dashed out with all the pc clones i've played. choplifter was fun back in the day, but now...

I mainly want actual arcade games. I want them to be aracde authentic and not like the past home ports (although recent collections have went the emulation route which I approve).

    My short list -

    Mortal Kombat 2
    Killer Instinct (1 and 2)
    Tekken 3 and 5
Any of the Crusin games (USA mostly)
All of Sega's past Arcade racers (Daytona, Virtua Racing, Sega GT, Sega rally (I'd even take the Saturn version of SR)
NBA Jam (any of them really)
Primal Rage (Primal Rage 2 would be a cool bonus since it was 90% complete and theres atleast one actual working unit out there somewhere)
Street Fighter (3, Alpha 3, Cap Vs SNK (would love MvsC but Capcom no longer has a Marvel License)

Of course all of them would have to have Live VS play and I think it would be cool if they used the Vision cam to put a little video window up to recreate that arcade feeling a bit more.

Also, does anyone know of any usb adapters that allow Xbox or PS2 controllers to work on 360? I have the Street Fighter anniversary arcade stick (which works with both systems) and its by far the most awsome home stick I've ever used and would love to use it with the XBL arcade games.

I wish Sega would start releasing some of there of Mega Drive (Genesis) games for it.
I'd kill to download the Streets Of Rage series.

I would also love to see Treasure release some games like Gunstar Heroes, Bangai-O and Dynamite Heady. There have also been rumors that Ikaruga is headed for XBox Live.

Do you know what would be really awesome? A HD revamp of Assault Suits Valken (Cybernator) of SNES fame.

Sega needs to release Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder and Planet Harriers. Both of those are still arcade-only.

If MS would be up for it, I would definately dig a revamped Scorched Earth and Lode Runner.

Okay, not XBL but I'd LOVE to see Nintendo work out some deal with LucasArts. Some of the old games like Zak McKraken, Maniac Mansion, etc, would work great with the Wii-remote.

Get out of our Microsoft thread, Nintendo hippy!

    ALSO;

Sega did an awesome side scrolling Spider-Man game in the arcades, you could be Spider-Man, Black Cat, Namor and Hawkeye.

What were they thinking?! Who knows, but a 30 story tall Venom is GENIUS!

I know that game very well. But you know how licensed games go. It's rare to ever see them released again.

Yeah. A lot of those licensed arcade games were great. Konami's whole line of beat 'em ups (TMNT, X-Men) especially.
