if you had a choice of WFC, i would've voted WFC.

since i haven't played ROTF, i can't judge whether ROTF or FOC is the better game. one thing i do know is that FOC's gameplay is............ at best mediocre. again, the only pluses i can give FOC are the huge maps, host migration, and their attention to getting rid of cheaters and hackers in the game... i give a big plus to the character customization... not a significant plus as FOC's customization features leaves a lot to be desired. everything else in FOC MP is meh that i'm starting to think i spent $60 so i could just customize a character. that's good and all, but i wanted to have the same MP experience i had with WFC, which is still by far the more superior game.

They are both VERY different in gameplay, so its not quite fair to compare them. One thing for sure is that ROTF has a much much deeper gameplay than FOC, however, that doesnt make it more fun for some people. I like ROTF gameplay better, though.

Wait, there was melee combat with depth in ROTF? When did that get added in and why did nobody tell me.
Here I was thinking it was just mashing X or holding the shoulder button and pressing X. Oh, and a ground pound I guess. But then melee combat outside of fighting games and hack & slash games is usually pretty stupid and just ends up with both players mashing the buttons without any kind of strategy.

I'd say about the only thing ROTF has over FOC is the transformations being useful, as opposed to suicidal.
ROTF was certainly a fun game, but it was by no means even vaguely balanced. I'm not sure if the devs had even heard of the term.

Seeing as I can't give FOC a fair rating due to not being able to play multiplayer, both games offer a different atmosphere. ROTF gave me everything I wanted after I played the first TF game. I wanted alternate transformation uses and being able to play as both an Autobot and Decepticon on the same map. For me, I would have to say ROTF the transformation feature really makes a game feel like transformers game and not so much a shooter one.

I just finished FOC last night and I would say I prefer ROTF in all areas aside from the actual story of the campaign. I thought they did a good job actually telling a coherent story in FOC and I enjoyed that. However, ROTF is much more fun to actually play.

W... Wait is there some kind of in-joke that I'm not aware of around here on this forum...?
Why on EARTH are you voting ROTF (A Movie Tie-In Game) to a full budget individual Transformers game...?
    What is WRONG with you?

apparently people think ROTF superior, FOC inferior

or at least, the hipsters not wanting to jump on the new-game bandwagon think so.

    This looks shopped.

Or it could just be because ROTF has superior gameplay (which is not made by having a budget or alot of explosions, but having a good concept of multiplayer games and controls).

Have you played it? The game may have been sub-par in story and dressing, but it's gameplay mechanic actually had thought and effort put into it instead of just a typical shooter mechanic where you push a button and become a different typical shooter mechanic.

ROTF wins this easily. The only people who would ever vote for FOC's generic shooter gameplay are those who've never played ROTF and experienced a good transformers game mechanic instead of this Gears of War clone.

You'd pick this slow, clunky, tired gameplay over the fast-paced, intense, smooth mechanics of ROTF. What's wrong with you?
