I didn't see this up anywhere, so I figured I'd share. Apologies if it's out of turn.

Latest issue of Gameinformer (#200) arrived today and on page 29 it says that they're hearing rumors of Activision is hard at work on another Transformer game that isn't tied to the Michael Bay films.

Yeah, we've heard that from one of the Luxo Devs. It's supposedly gonna be G1 based. I think.

If g1 ROTF Game characters are any indication, it'll probably look like shit.

Hope they find a better way of translating the g1 universe instead of MASTERPIECE TOY COPY PASTE BCUZ OUR DESIGNER IS A SHAMELESS G1NER

I'd hope that they use the Universe toys or something similar for the characters, unless it's a game set in the 80's - it's going to look really strange using all old cars

If I recall correctly, Ken Christiansen (the designer of all of the new game characters and the G1 DLC characters) was apparently unhappy with how Prime turned out. I think others higher-up decided how Prime should look.

i remember talk of a g1 based games a while back but after that there was no word. all i know is that if it's not based on the idiot and his movies then it's already way ahead of the game.

I have to disagree. TF2's G1 Prime looks nothing like Masterpiece Prime. However, I will say that out of all the G1 models, that made the dlc content, Prime looked the worst. The vents on his face mask bugged the hell out of me. I think Megs and and the Seekers looked great though. I wish the game had looked a bit better in the first place. Still fun to play though.

On topic, I hope this is true and I hope the game plays similar to what ROTF gave us. It's a pretty sweet game. It just needs to be a little more responsive control wise and a little more graphically enhanced. Sometimes it'd be a seconds delay from the time you press the button, and the characters on screen action. That can be costly in multiplayer. I have really fast internet too, so I know it's just the way the game is.

Sounds good, they did a great job on the 360/PS3 version of the last game.

I disagree and I think that they look like crap, their models give me bad flashbacks of old GameCube games, the only slighty decent is Megatron, and that's because he is the most different from the g1 model when compared to others.

Oh just imagine if they make it G1 toon (and make it look good too) locations could be on Earth and Cyberton (with Cybertron modes)

Loads of humans on the streets, the Witwicky family, Chip, construction workers, the punks, new romantics and b-boys from 'Auto-Bop' etc etc

Make it just season 1 & 2 then do a sequel for the movie and Rebirth, where the game is set on various alien worlds too.

fully set it in the 80s and beautifully stylised and you have a game I'd like to play!

Agreed. I have been waiting a while for a good 360 TF game. If it's G1-based, then all the better.

    I would prefer classics based.
G1 is over and done with. Let it die in peace and lets move forward.
Kids are not going to buy a game based in the '80s or based on characters that most of them have never seen.
A friend of mine's son was over (he's 10) and asked me who the big red transformer is on my shelf. I said "That is masterpiece Optimus Prime.
He then pointed at ROTF Prime and said "No, that's Optimus Prime."

Um, most of classics/universe is based on G1.

So no. G1 is not "over and done with".

A G1 game that plays like the ROTF game? I'm so there. I love this game. It was more fun than Batman AA IMO. Tons of replay value.

I have to agree. I mean if kids were not buying the Classics toys or the Universe toys then I don't think the lines would have lasted more than just a few waves. So kids must like the look even if it's based on something they didn't grow up with.

Plus you've got a lot of older gamers out there who do know something about G1 since it would be part of pop culture for the older people that play video games. It's not like video games are a kids only market since games not meant for young children manage to sell.
