Some interesting stuff that's said, and it makes sense. I don't agree with all of it, but still.

So when are we getting a God of War film? Cause you all know that would rock the house.

Yeah, Street Fighter is going to fail hard and this article will be laughed at, and deservedly so because it's just common fucking sense on paper.

    Or the internet. Whatever.

you can't tell people what to like. people will like what they like. it's like some idiot kid whining because he voted off american idol because people didn't like him, not because he didn't have talent. if people don't like something, they'll find something else to do. end of story. video game movies have a horrible track record. until good game movies that appeal to the fans start being released on a consistent basis, expect criticism. same goes for games based on movies too, because they tend to suffer from the same problems.
    um, yeah.

Primal Rage, that could've made a sweet movie. Very little story, but who cares? Giant fucking dinosaurs kicking the crap out of each other on the big screen.

If a studio is just going to do whatever with a game license, why the fuck do they need the license in the first place? It's just an attempt to cash in on the popularity of something without having to actually stay true to it.

It's like with Fallout 3, Bethesda bought the license for millions of dollars just to tack on the name to their post-apocalyptic game in an attempt to gain street cred with those hardcore CRPG fellows.

Why would I want to watch a movie featuring a character I don't like in the first place? No Ryu, no Ken, no Akuma, no thanks.

    Good read, quite insightful.

But I was never too bothered by video game to movie adaptations. Hollywood can do what they think is best.

Movie to video game adaptations on the other hand...
