I call it the "Spyoomfy cannon." Because of the noise it makes.

I read it somewhere that it was called a "particle accelerator cannon" then again I don't know if this information is reliable or not

 

If I remember correctly it's a plasma cannon.

 

I remember the particle accelerator cannon thing as well. Was it referenced by Wreck-gar in the UK comics when he rebuilt Bumblebee into Goldbug? In issue 118 I think.

Galvy's Tech Specs refer to it as "a laser that emits chemically-produced, direct-current electricity".

 

Also in the UK comic, when the Wreckers are going over their target Galvatron, they list his primary weapon as a Particle Cannon.

 

I thought it was a photon cannon....or something like. Least that's what the rza says...and wu tang clan ain't nothin to f**k wit!

 

I think that is the hand gun/rifle he comes with, I've seen his arm cannon listed as a Particle Cannon a few times.

 

So if his tech specs are correct, then it's a battery powered electricity gun. I remember that one of the wikis suggested that the tech spec thing was just a play on his name, which is taken from the "galvanic cell"... commonly known as the battery.  

 

Same as the Ghostbusters!  

 

I've always known the arm cannon as a Particle Cannon.

According to the instructions scan on our G1 Galvatron resource page, the parts are listed as a rifle (for his hand weapon) and the purple section that the cannon attaches to is a "laser connector", so the laser mentioned in the tech specs must be the arm cannon, rather than the rifle.

The only other Galvatron to mention his firepower is the 3 Inch Titanium Galvatron, that mentions that Galvatron transforms into a mobile particle cannon.


So according to the toy bios, Galvatron's got a directed electricity cannon in robot mode, and he transforms into a mobile particle cannon.

 

The most annoying toy accessory to locate...
