In case you were on the fence on which version to get, I took a few pics and will highlight the differences between the two.

-Hasbro has fixed the little band that goes across the face.
-The Autobot decals are a bit smaller on the wings
-The chrome chest is now a solid goldish color
-The swords are grey on the top and white on the bottom
-The Hasbro instructions are missing a few steps (the little stand behind the head can support the rocket launcher thingie. They forgot to separate the chest plates in "Sonic Wing mode.
-The electronic lights and sounds are the same

-For $30 + shipping you can snag yourself a Sonic Bomber from BBTS or Digital Toys. If you're lucky Target sells their Ultra class toys for 24.99. It doesn't matter which version you get, just snag this great mold!

I'm hoping that soundwave.ca or Chaos Muffin can do a three way comparison between Sonic Bomber, Wing Saber, and the Japanese TRU giftset. Their photo skills are so much better.  





 

 

Thanks for the pics! Looks like the Cybertron version is also missing the paint aps on the sides of the head. I don't like the shrunken Autobot symbols on the wings. The white on those swords is just ugly to me. Glad I went GF this time.  

 

I have neither and have no intention on getting one but from the pics I perfer the hasbro color scheme with the yellow and full nose cone painted.

 

I actually like the white on the wings, does a nice job of disguise.

Otherwise, glad I went with Sonic Bomber.

 

Wow, the yellow on Wing Saber's chest is just ghastly. Glad I have a Japanese version. Sounds like the only real upside to the Hasbro version is the nose bar and the price. Unusual though, I remember liking most of the Hasbro versions better than their GF counterparts.

 

I Prefer the actual Gold paint versus the yellow paint and my Soinc Bombers eyes show just fine guess I got a good one so I like my Sonic Bomber better than the Hasbro version. But all in all I am glad they finally released Wing Saber.

Doesn't make any difference on my choice, though. I will have to get Wing Saber.

 

I think the chrome causes Sonic Bomber's robot mode to be broken up too much. the cybertron version looks a lot more cohesive and solid without it.

 

I will be getting the Sonic Convoy set soon, every pic of Sonic Bomber makes me more and more anxious

 

Sonscreen you need to post a pic of there heads side by side so we can see the diffrence. The shot you have dosnt show Sonic Bombers face at all.

I just picked up the GF version and I'm glad I chose it...I can live with the visor problem but I got to say that the "yellow" paint on Cyberton Wing Saber didn't come off well.

 

Hmmm, I must say I am glad I got SonicBoomer, however if I had the choise now Wingsaber would do fine.

 

I was just rewatching a GF episode with Sonic Bomber in last night, and his nose visor thing is indeed bent. So technically the GF version is more show accurate.

I do like the chrome on the chest and swords of Sonic Bomber, but in the end it's the same exact toy. Still not wasting more money to import it.

 

Eww, those swords don't look good at all on the Cybertron version.

Well it looks like the opinions are going both ways. I have always imported all my TFs Binaltech, Galaxy Force aside from my G1s and have always been extreamly happy with the imports over the dumb down Hasbro versions aside from the Hasbro Exclusives such as DownShift and Cannonball coming out. I will get those guys because there is no GF Alternative to get.

 

Very interesting...colors look spot-on, aside from the mentioned variations (but at least there aren't any massively uncolored areas, ala C-Prime's leg guns or knee caps).

I'd go with Cybertron on this one, though, if I bought this figure at all. Cheaper price, although I do find the gold chrome alluring.
