A friend of mine called me today and said "I've got this random blue jet robot. I think it's a Transformer. Do you want it?" So I swung by his work and he just gave me a Tread Bolt out of the blue! Just have to swap out the brown bits for Jetfire's white and I'll be ready for Brainstorm.

Considering my father has recently fallen ill, I'm happy with it. I just don't have time to focus on more of these right now, sorry.

    See above.

Seems pointless as everyone appears convinced that Hasbro will release one down the road.

    Thanks

Haven't had time to work on mine. I need to order a better dye, the Wine coloured one wasn't brown enough.

You're likely to finish yours before mine, so I'd love to see pictures

    Ain't life grand? :)

    Nice work!

What program did you use to design this for shapeways?

Thanks. He is, thankfully. I'm slowly catching up to all my side projects. Dark Glass is next, then I'll resume work on these guys.

I only know how to use 3DS Max, and it wasn't the ideal software for Shapeways.

Someone has suggested something over on Shapeways that I will be adding to my list of custom parts:

Transformable Cerebros unit for Cybertron Metroplex.

Whether that Cerebros will have a Spike Headmaster of its own remains to be seen. I kinda doubt it. :)

At the end of the Marvel run and in G2, there was no Cerebros, just Spike and Fort Max. No explanation given because the series was on a page count to cancellation.

I'll buy one! Just make it Spike, not Cerebros.

If I remember correctly i could be wrong the american headmasters were humans and those alien guys that helped the autobots become headmasters buy being the basic units so for eg. Spike + cerebros = headmaster (american version) but in the japanese version thier were no humans or aliens and that the autbots were basic units themselves eg.
Cerebros (basic unit) + Cerebros body = headmaster, thus why thier appearance was also different in some cases. again I could be wrong but thats how I rember it after watching both versions.

In Japan, the smallest part was the living Transformer named Fortress (kinda like calling a bald guy "Curly" if you ask me) and he was the only part with personality. He became the head of a nonliving Transector like all the others but what made is special was that he was a double Transector, becoming the head of the combined Fortress Maximus.

Over here, we just had Galan the Nebuleon and Spike the Witwicky.

So, Zod, what you're saying is you'd like the Head to look like Fortress Maximus' toy, but the transformed robot to look like the humanoid component in armor?

'Cuz honnestly, I love the Cerebros body design. :)

Pretty much but it's your creation! I'll get it either way!

I'll just have to get a C Metroplex and decide where to put the Stronghold I made. Probably with my Japanese Classics shelf as so far it's pretty empty!

I'm purchasing a C Metroplex from someone on this forum, and there are a couple other people selling them too. About 70$ is what I'd expect, but eBay is worse...

    I love the Metroplex idea.
I haven't got one yet, so I wonder what kind of connection the head has.
Could someone disassemble there's and take a picture?

Woah... have you got a picture archive of your Brave Maximus? I mean, eBay's page won't stay forever now that you sold it! I'm really interested in how you customized it, I'd like to make a full blown conversion kit now, not just the head! *LOL*

You could make two different versions of it. One with a more toy accurate head and one like the Marvel comics version.

    Guess which one I'd get.

Comics version, I'd say. *LOL* I still prefer the anime Headmasters designs myself, but that's only because that's the way I really got to know these characters.

Weeeellllp... back on topic. My Chromedome is dyied. No problem, except that... he's orange. I guess I should have done more dips, in the dye. Sooooo... I'm gonna have to learn to paint if I want him to be ready for TF Con.

Well, not as pretty as I would have liked him to be, but he's done. I'll be making some labels and some paint touch ups.

Tip for those who wanted to Dye the figure like I'd originally planned... use Sideswipe as a base. No matter what I did with the dye, the white colour kept showing the plastic swirls and it just looked bad.

Granted, my painting skills aren't that good, so it still look kinda bad, but at least it's done. I overpainted a few parts and lost details, so I'll have to remove some paint and repaint over if I want him perfect.... but for a first custom ever, I'll just let him be.

I like the bronze color instead of the typical brown look.
