I'm thinking about collecting the G2 Laserrods.

Couldn't find a thread but I'd benefit from some feedback about the waist-elastic. My understanding is that the waist-elastic is easily broken. I would benefit from any advice on these nice-looking figs.

They're essentially the same as the elastic in a G.I.Joe figure and are easily replacement with a rubber o-ring from a hardware/plumming store.

Electro has a nasty tendency to crumble.

...and many of them end up with dead electronics (not just did batteries) too.

Electro is the one to watch. Lots of fragile gold plastic. Mine's got away with just a chip on it so far *knock on wood*

Otherwise, yes, the main weak spots are the O-Ring waists and the hips can also be a little loose at times.

I never had a problem with the elastic on my Laser Rods, though I did as a kid with GI Joes. The experience with Joes may have caused me to be more cautious with the Laser Rods, but they held up pretty well.

I think Volt's O-ring is the one you need to watch out for more than the others, because his transformation involves a 180 degree waist twist.
