i started working on this project a year ago ,after collecting the bots like 3 yrs ago , to say the truth seeing frenzy_rumble's version of Petitvite formula made me want to try to bash. so let me first start by saying thanks to Petitevite for inventing this amazing formula of our all favorite giant .. and thanks to all the input and the ideas i saw here on the boards ,and a special zdfekaye(i hope i remeber your name correctly ) for sending me closeups of his build . i love G2 devy and besides Alphamagnus's version i didnt see any g2 versions so i decided to try it myself , then i had to deal with some cancer (fully recovered not long ago ),and finishing university ,marriage ,finding a job and in genral life .... this guy sat lonely on my table for 10 months gathering dust,3 weeks ago after receiving some good news about my cancer i decided to finish him . i did some new mods to the way that he combines . but besides that its the same version as anyone else's . i used ravel's enamels and p3 acylics , alcald2 chrome and mr plastic spray cans(purple ) , i wanted to cobine the cratoon look with some real life construction vehicles ,hence the orangish taint to the yellow . longhaul's dump truck bed -contains electronic from classic silverbolt- and he has a switch that make the "transformation sounds" and a button for firing sound ... the individual bots heads are made via shapeways by the all so talented nick form 'calloway desgins" and devy's head is either supreme starscream head (cast bao from kidbash) or petitevite original sculpt !!
First off. Congratulations on the fighting cancer thing. Cancer is a motherf--ker. My family dealt with it for years in various forms. Second. Awesome Devastator. Its very cool! I like the yellow version better for some reason. All we need now is for someone to do a Mr Hardhat version and were all set!
mods here u can see the button and the switch for the sounds here is a video http://youtu.be/Yp6tXVjmHVs this is how i transformed longhaul instead of using primus's chest i modified unicrons those 2 "pegs " are connected to longhauls feet so that the chest wont be floopy i added to unicron waist a "peg" that receives long hauls chest (in the original tf there is peg that clips in to his abdomen) , so i copied it and now he sits very tight on unicrons waist. in order to conncet hook to the chest i used the hightowers wheels( in landfill they become the feet ) to connect to the chest i removed primus's arm cannons and tried to make ot lok like devys forarms .. kinda failed but ....
Congrats on winning the fight D Nice choice on the individual heads they look awesome as does your styrene work. Devy looks epic and I love the colors man
Great variation on a classic formula... and it's YELLOW! Looks great! The stand-out for me is the fact that you did proper custom heads for all the Constructicons! Close-ups PLEASE!! zmog
thanks guys wow i guess i sholuld have left my cancer stuff privete so many :"be strong and are u ok ?" i'm back on track -healthy as a bull with one ball less-lol
Well, you may have only one ball, but I think that the one left counts as 10. Superb model. I am really amazed what can be done with skill, will and patience. I've been looking many Devastator customs lately, and I am planning to make one myself using a KO Devastator. I've never made a custom before, only some minnor repainting, so I still can't decide if I should go for it or not.
Beautiful work, Daniel! I love how the individual bots turned out. The heads look great on all of them (including the two Devy heads--I prefer the Ptitvite sculpted head, personally!). I love the huge tires you added onto Scrapper & the overall G2 look & feel it spot on. The paint apps look nice & smooth. He looks nice & detailed, without being overly detailed (if that makes sense). Best of all, I enjoyed seeing all the mods & work you did to achieve the finished product. It makes me appreciate it that much more seeing exactly how you went about things. Keep up the great work, brother! Also glad you knocked the big "C" outta the park--you already know my feelings about that damn disease. Now get back to work.....I always love seeing your WIPs & completed projects.
