hello radicons! this is one of the commissions i got last december 2011. one of the reasons why personal projects are on hold. G2 Cyberjet Hooligan The client wanted an updated figure of the character and gave me references from customizers who did the same before like Jin Saotome. The figures used are HFTD Deluxe Terradive body and PCC Leadfoot head. PIN REMOVAL GALORE! i had to disassemble all so i can tweak the nosecone of the jet and make it sit back like in the reference picture. 'cause the crotch part is just so wrong on that config. some trims to align the neck joint. the client said to do the paintjob my way, so i gathered up some more references regarding the tiger stripes on alt mode. the masking job was one hell of a task. orange coat. to make way for better looking stripes, after removing the masking tapes, i did a black wash over it . re-assembling the figure. i just did a final coat of flat clear and will be posting the finished work later. thanks for looking!
Looking good. I think that head is perfect. I put mine on my Spacecase. I made hooligan using the jetfire mold but the head is too small for my tastes.
Looking great! I'm using the exact same recipie for my Hooligan, so it's nice to know it's going to turn out well. What kind of masking tape did you use for the stripes?
thank you! maybe because of the tiger stripes? the client seemed so too that's why he chose Hooligan to be the first one done. thanks guys! thanks! the head is great indeed! PCC was on clearance here so no worries on taking it off on Leadfoot thanks! the figures used really match on him! i used this
G2 Cyberjet Hooligan Operations done: -relocation of wings -jet nosecone config. -new neck joint. just got home and the flat clear was ok, so i took the liberty of taking pictures. for a month, i had fun working with this figure, especially the disassembling part. since it's deluxe class, it has lots of pins that i enjoyed popping out. a very good mold i must say. after figuring out the jet nosecone... if i had more time and money, i'd buy three for myself and make them seekers. thanks for looking!
going back, after the client saw the pictures... we forgot one thing and that is Hooligan's gun. the one he was using on my mini photo session was borrowed from a Special Edition Megatron so yeah, he told me to make an original. made up of Tamiya's styrene, plastic beams and plastic rods. painted with black and gun metal. Hooligan is now packaged and will be delivered to his owner.
