    Both from SDCC:

On one hand, you have High Moon saying that WFC is the events prior to G1 1984

At the TF: Prime panel, some official (not on stage that said anything to the public tho- hmmm...) states that WFC if TF: Prime continuity.

So once again, the waters are muddied with the left hand / right hand thing.

So, I'll take this position and run with it: even tho TF: Prime isn't G1, WFC is for both.

After all, that is the purpose of WFC: to attract not only the old fans, but the new fans.

So the next time this debate rages, everyone can be right:

    WFC is G1- you're right.
    WFC is PRIME- you're right.

And TF: Prime is NOT Movieverse.

    That is all.

Makes sense to me. Too many new origin stories are tiring. That's why the Hulk series essentially did the same thing.

Gotta admit it, it´s a pretty smart move from Hasbro.

Anyway, TF: Prime not being movieverse makes me VERY happy.

I'm very glad Prime is not in the Movieverse.

I love the movies, but I do not need to see them as a TV show.

I was thinking this way too. I see WFC more as a G1 origin, however, it leans more in that direction.

I seem to recall Hasbro saying that WFC was an all-purpose pre-Earth relaunch point that could be used for all continuities going forward as a general reference.

Hasbro is like the fat kid with the ball, changing the game rules all the time. It was War Within, now it's WFC, next summer it'll be some other crap. So pick your own continuity and f*ck the rest.

Inspired to make a G1 prequel- that also plugs into PRIME that is.

WFT is not a prequel to any G1 universe that has come before.

So it is not a prequel at all.

If anything its a NEW G1 universe....like Dreamwave and IDW.

Really? Cause all we know about WFC (not counting exodus) is that jetfire isn't the same as G1, though that can be excused, he was skyfire in g1, so long lost brother if needed. And Prime doesn't have the matrix yet. Well all we know in the WFC game is that prime and megs are odds to each other. Which wouldn't be surprising after G1 episode war dawn either. Where Prime didn't become a matrix holder, just a soldier with that name as mentioned in TFTM and Five Faces.

Then the only other aspect to G1 we know about, is that prime needed more energon before launching the ark. We have no info about why they built the ark etc. So it can tie, loosely albeit, but it can tie.

Slipstream and Arcee are exempt since they are just unlockables and don't factor into the story.

WFC can be anything they want it to be. So long as it has the right lead in points, and overall it really does since so much in G1 toon is vague or misleading, or changed in a different episode.

Thats not all we know but I wont get into every aspect.

But no, WFC can not be tied to any of the original G1 universes.

In both the original G1 toon and Comics the Aerilbots and Stunticons were created on Earth in the 1980's.

Members of both teams already exist in WFC.

As were the constructicons. Which then the toon retconned in itself later to say they were on cybertron during the golden age, and pissed Omega Supreme off.

All we can say for certain is the aerial bots never saw the golden age of cybertron.

So yeah, it can still tie in fine. Combaticons were cons with their sparks in storage, so that's fine too. Only barricade comes into question, but even so, what's to keep them from saying they were rebuilt on earth like they did the constructicons or combaticons for that matter?

It wouldn't be possible for us all to just to play with our toys the way we wanted and not worry about this "universe" bullshit, would it?

Actually the toon never directly stated that the Constructicons were created on Earth.

And regardless, what your suggesting would only further damage continuity.
    I never mentioned the Combaticons.

    Megatron says it.

Heavy metal War 2:40-2:57 and megatron says "They were worth the time building them in these caverns."

    Wrong on both.

The Narrator nevrer said they were "created" on Earth and neither did Megatron.
