    To the point:

    Can someone with both confirm that the difference between the "G1" and Generation 2 Dinobots' swords are:
    G1 = Flimsy, thinner
    G2 = Slightly thicker (microns), more rigid
    ?

    Bonus: If any collectors have confirmed versions from both Generations AND the recent KO reissues and can tell me/us the qualities of the swords in comparison to the past issues, that would be just as helpful.

    Any and all help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Aren't the G2 swords actually the more rubbery ones, and a duller plastic?

    Well, I thought so, but it turns out that probably isn't the case.

    Spent maybe a half-hour researching via the internet, and it appears that assumption most likely isn't true. But, most of the pages seemed to be referencing/citing Fred's page, so I dunno...

    Nobody on the boards has a bona fide G1 and G2 Dinobot sword to compare? One of the uber/celebrity collectors...?

    I had both for snarl. The g1 is smooth glossy surface and softer plastic. The g2 has a pitted texture

    The G1 swords are a littler darker than G2, closer to a red color. They are softer than the G2 swords with kind of a rubbery feel.

    The G2 swords are a little more orange, and just feel like plastic. The plastic is not as hard as the robots themselves, but definitely harder than the G1 swords.

    This may help, for a reference point. Slag's horns are made from the same material (color and texture).

    G1 Slag horns = G1 Slag Sword
    G2 Slag horns = G2 Slag Sword

    That all helps. Turns out what I really want (besides the chrome versions) are the G2 swords.

    Thank you everyone.
