It would be cool if they did these 2 espisodes just to for old times sake, plus to reach 100...

    What do you think?

Talk to Furman. I'm sure he'd be interested in reviving another project that didn't need it.

I've always wanted them to do a comic that did a "Season 2.5" that kept the tone of the series but gradually introduced the newer characters and lead up to the movie.

With ReGeneration #81 on the horizon, anything is possible...

Well, it wouldn't have the charm of G1 because the animation would be up to par and errors would be very minimal so...no.

"Here's the thing ... You can't just stop at 98. One hundred episodes would be ... better."

I, a new fan, who had not watched Transformers before the movies, support the idea. Although I would only be satisfied if they purposely put in a ton of "errors". Those were fun to spot and the show, really, wouldn't be the same without them.

I'm certain Cullen would support it, we know Dan whozit supports it and I'm sure Welker would participate. I wonder who else they could get back for it? Bigger questions is who would replace the dead cast members?

Have you seen TMNT: Forever? It was wonderful crossover between the new and the old turtles. They incorporate all goofy things from the old series in such comedic tone that TMNT: Forever only won from it.

We lost too many voice actors for such a thing to work, either through death or anger issues. If you follow from rebirth it would just be clean up episodes anyway, and those do not tend to be overly popular.

Just look at it like this:

    G1 Episode 99: Beast Wars
    G1 Episode 100: Beast Machines.

    Job done. :)

What's weird is that if you go by the Japanese numbering of the original 3 seasons plus Rebirth, the episode count reaches about 107. I'm not sure what they did differently. I know they tweaked some stuff. They must have split a few episodes into two parts and padded them or something.

Oddly enough, for as much as we supposedly don't need that, it is by far the most I have looked forward to new TF comics in a very long time. Maybe because despite how skeptical I was about the whole idea, the similar GI Joe continuation IDW has been doing ended up being so good.

Would it be cool? Yeah, probably. Would there be any way to tell a good coherent story? Probably not. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want to see it, but I mean, it is what it is

I'd rather see the original series rebooted with a bit of a more serious tone, and updated animation.

Or at least see the series remastered, with animation cleaned up, errors fixed, etc.

That would be very cool. I actually just finished watching season 2 and the movie this week. It never really occurred to me just how much time had passed between the end of season 2 (presumably in the mid-eighties) and the movie, which is set in 2005 for f's sake. Tons of stories to be told.

Episodes 99 & 100 would have existed, but they just would have been "The Rebirth" Part 4 & 5. Behind the scenes issues shut down production at Sunbow and the company that bought out Sunbow reneged on the contract to make 5 episodes by cutting it to 3 episodes and giving them only the time to make 1 1/2 episodes to make all 3 episodes. That's why it looks more rushed as the 3-parter goes on.

    No.

I wouldn't want to make an episode 99 or 100 but i wouldn't mind the continuity being revisited (think something like Scramble City).

That or adapt The Wings of Honor (TFCC storyline).

Yeah, 20 years. Enough time for Spike to grow up, marry Carly, and have a 10 year-old son. It was a big jump.

    True dis.

Tbh there isn't really anywhere left to go after the end of the The Rebirth. For me anyways, it was a satisfactory conclusion to the G1 show. Let's face it, that thing could have been dragged out forever if someone had felt so inclined, so I'm glad it ended where it did. Besides, as Gingershris points out, G1 continued anyway with the Beast era.
I would love one day to see some official canon which fills in the gap between G1/The Rebirth and Beast Wars episode one, but sometimes a man can want too much... :D
